Bob Dylan – The Witmark Demos: 1962-1964

Biography

Bob Dylan (born Robert Allen Zimmerman) is one of the most important singer-songwriters of the era of recorded, commercially available music. His lyrics are a yardstick against which aspiring young singer-songwriters measure themselves. He broke seemingly unbreakable rules, and he did so with stalwart passion and uncompromising honesty. He incorporated musical traditions from a diverse range of… Read more in Amazon's Bob Dylan Store

3.0 out of 5 stars hard to hear, September 22, 2000

The hum of the recorder competes with the noise of the passing cars in the street to drown out Dylan throughout the interview. (Incidentally, a gang bang, not one favored interviewer whom Dylan takes a fancy to.) The interview is slow starting although Bob does make a couple of worthwhile comments toward the end. Given all of the other Dylan material available, and the difficulty in hearing Bob here, this CD is only of interest to Ph.D. candidates who crave every utterance. The price is right, but you'll only listen to it once.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you can't touch him -- hear him., July 25, 2000
This review is from: 1965 Interview (San Francisco) (Audio CD)
This is a treat for collectors and Dylan fanatics. Or, for you who hasn't had the chance to hear how the genius acts in interviews. After listening to this record, and seeing "Dont look back", I have a feeling that Dylan at this time often took a somewhat personal approach; if he didn't like the interviewer, of a single one of his questions, he either started mumbling, or (this is far more entertaining)messing with his head, with a simble means as semantics of ethical discussions.

But, I think he liked this interviewer pretty much.
