We live in a world of non-stop media coverage. Every event, regardless of its significance is captured for posterity and streamed to the world within minutes.
It wasn't always that way.
Some of the most historical events of the 20th century went undocumented - and live only in the memories of those who were there.
In the world of music, Bob Dylan's 1966 Electric World Tour was a just such an event. It changed the face of rock and roll forever, and it went largely undocumented.
As the drummer for The Band, Mickey Jones was there and he had his home movie camera with him. This dvd combines footage from the tour with Bob Dylan and The Band along with Mickey's narrative of stories from the tour. Not to mention some great stories of how Mickey came to be on the tour.
If you're looking for a concert film, this isn't the place - but if you want some first hand accounts of what it was like to be there...you need to watch this dvd.
Your opinion of it will depend largely upon what type of music fan you are. If you're like me and you appreciate the stories behind the music you'll enjoy this dvd.
