Brilliant traditional organ sounds! and Julie Driscoll is fine singer.
Check also other Brian Auger (Oblivion Express) and Julie Driscoll production.
Try! Good comprehensive compilation.
Good booklet.

This is a pearl of a record. A Jools record. This is no simulacrum. This is the real thing. Twenty one clean sounding tracks from a gone-by unforgettable era. Julie's soaring voice reigns supreme along the contagious Hammond B3 textures crafted by the artistry of Brian Auger. The band is up to par.
Two obscure, but very good Julie solo recordings kickstart seventy eight minutes of listening pleasure. We are treated to seven well chosen picks from the Trinity's "Open" LP (including the top 5 hit, Bob Dylan penned "This wheels's on fire"), six from "Streetnoise" (including "Save the country" by the late great Laura Nyro), the rivetting "Road to Cairo", and even a taster of Julie's own "1969" LP, represented by the two closing tracks.
Seldom can a compilation be so satisfactory. A must-have to anyone even vaguely interested in the high spirits and creativity of late sixties Swinging London music scene.
What are you waiting for? Order it! I mean NOW.

I bought this CD after seeing a video of "This Wheel's on Fire" on YouTube that blew me away. It's still great on the CD, though seeing the video adds something to the impact. This CD also includes the group's interpretation of "Light My Fire" and the gospel song "Take Me to the Water." Julie Driscoll has a raspy, sexy voice that works well with the material. The songs are a bit different -- some of them begin with sound effects like the slamming of a door. "This Wheel's on Fire" was my favorite track, and I enjoyed "Light My Fire." Some of the others didn't do much for me. The album is a compilation of the songs the group did from 1967 to 1971. All in all, I can see why the group did not achieve huge stardom in the U.S. But fans of '60s era jazz/rock and the singing style of Dusty Springfield will most likely enjoy this CD. Brian Auger's organ playing is amazing on some tracks, especially "Wheel's on Fire."
