Product Description

You will receive 1 $2 Two dollar bill note. Real currency US money. The United States two-dollar bill ($2) is a current denomination of U.S. currency. Former U.S. President Thomas Jefferson is featured on the obverse of the note. The reverse features an engraved modified reproduction of the painting The Declaration of Independence by John Trumbull. The bill was discontinued in 1966, but was reintroduced 10 years later as part of the United States Bicentennial celebrations. Today, however, it is rarely seen in circulation and actual use. Production of the note is the lowest of U.S. paper money: under 1% of all notes currently produced are $2 bills. This comparative scarcity in circulation, coupled with a lack of public awareness that the bill is still in circulation, has also inspired urban legends and, on a few occasions, created problems for people trying to use the bill to make purchases. In 1976 use of the two-dollar denomination was resumed as part of the United States bicentennial and the two-dollar bill was finally assigned as a Federal Reserve Note, with a new design on the back featuring John Trumbull's depiction of the drafting of the United States Declaration of Independence replacing the previous design of Monticello. It has remained a current denomination since then. Today, two-dollar bills are not frequently reissued in a new series like other denominations which are printed according to demand; two-dollar bills today are issued but are requested to be printed less often than the other denominations.

Looking at the picture of the product and the product received is not what I ordered. Due to the tricky nature of these specimens, the product received is what I ordered due in part to the lack of specific descriptions. As a response, the two dollar bill is the two dollar bill; yet, not truly functional without the correct symbol of where it was produced, and hence, the reasoning of the initial purchase. Since current trends allow for such an identifying set of symbols, that makes for a need to complete the set to get the most for my money. On the other hand, look what happened to the five dollar bill... no more magically enclosed symbols, and yet ironically that is about what I spent to receive this product in the first place. Stuff happens. Thank you for the product received anyways, because there are not many of them left.

This was a great item, the person I bought it for enjoyed the two dollar bill and also liked that it was the 200th anniversary one.
