Alright I don't speak spanish but I know flow, and I understand production. And on this album, she has flow. Production is a little uneven and varied, though generally within a narrow band-- as in mostly mid-tempo, golden-age-of-hip hop jams and traditional verses and hooks without the fancy electronic production and the vocoder fads here. Particularly, there's a reggae beat, an underground hiphop uptempo beat, an orchestra sampled beat, a mc battle beat, jazzy boom-bap beat, abstract minimal jazzy hooked boom bap beat, traditional under tempo'ed groove R+B beat, etc...So I say this with the utmost honesty: if you're a hip hop fan, you will love this album, even if you don't understand spanish. Standouts are Mar Adentro, Sube, Oulala [where she raps in french (i might not know much, but i know that it ain't spanish and it ain't english)], and Problem de 2. Oh yeah, and I hear that her lyrics are pretty deep in substance and complicated in form.

Heard about her on NPR. Interesting background which greatly influences her sound and lyrics. Previewed a few of her songs and decided to buy the album... So Far, im pretty impressed.... Intelligent lyrics without that modern-day hip hop meaningless "bling jibberish" feel if that makes any sense.
