This report presents early results of wide-ranging studies of the volcanic activity and eruptive products at Mount St. Helens in 1980 by the United States Geological Survey. It includes contributions by other participating government, university, and industry scientists. Proceeds from the sale of the book support the David A. Johnston scholarship fund at the University of Washington.

The study of Mount St. Helens is detailed and easy to follow. My friend got this book and now I am going to for a college resarch project. It provides the graphics and information necessary to get a good look at such a fantastic event of nature.

This book blew me away. It is worth every cent even if all you do is look at the pictures. This book inspired me to become a geologist.
