1981 UK chart hits, May 16, 2005

I have all the CDs in this series from 1970 to 1982 but admittedly the series is beginning to run out of steam at this point. The best song on here is Thomas Dolby-Europa & the Pirate Twins. Other good songs include such US chart hits as Kim Carnes-Bette Davis Eyes, Blondie-Rapture, Sheena Easton-For Your Eyes Only, Juice Newton-Angel of the Morning, & Kim Wilde-Kids in America. Most of the other songs are nothing special, mostly new wave tunes that didn't become US hits. Light of the World-I Shot the Sheriff is a disco cover of Eric clapton's hit (which was a Bob Marley cover).
Still the CD is a good bargain for 20 songs,even if many of the songs aren't anything special. I'd give it 3.5 stars.
