Mardi Gras Memories, June 26, 2000

This is a wonderful volume in the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras(SGLMG)sets. Released each January to coincide with the annual Sydney G&L Mardi Gras festival in February, this version provides a wonderful retrospective of the 20 year history of the Mardi Gras dance parties. Moving from the high camp of Diana Ross with Chain Reaction through to the wonderful hands up in the air anthem of Your Loving Arms it is full of memories of sweat, mirror balls, Oxford Street and summer in Sydney. All versions are the extended 12" releases with a superb mix of Sylvester's Do Ya Wanna Funk. It doesn't pretend to be cutting edge dance but it is a wonderful treasure trove of memories guaranteed to get you on the dance floor. A great party CD. Well done Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
