Let me start off by saying that I happen to be a huge fan of Sarah Brightman! She is, in every possible, my greatest idol. So, as you can imagine, she was my biggest draw to watch this film. Sadly, I had to watch it on the internet, because at the time there was no American release of this film.

Personally, I enjoyed this film very much! All the actors do a great job, the singing is fantastic (no, this is NOT a musical, but it is about the production of an Opera) and the writing is pretty good too!

It is a romantic comedy, therefore if you dislike romantic comedies, this film won't change your mind about the said genre. But if you like romantic comedies, and don't mind the "R" rating then you'll enjoy this film. And if you like Opera, you'll love it even more.

If your only draw to see this film is hoping to see and hear Sarah sing throughout the film, I wouldn't bother because she sadly only gets one song at the beginning of the movie, which would be consistent with her character because she plays the mistro. The fact that she doesn't sing as much as I was hoping is the biggest reason for the one missing star. Aside from that, if you and your opera-loving significant other are looking for a movie to watch together, I'd give this one a try!

I have been waiting for this film for quite literally months, and the only reason I saw it is because of Sarah Brightman - who's one of my alltime favorite singers. :)

In this film she portrays one of the main characters, a conductor named Celia. Sir Adam Drummond has brought all sorts of people together to his country estate for a performance of Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte. Adam and Celia have had a past, and Adam still holds a torch for Celia. (At the beginning of the film Adam's wife is asked about, so I assume he's married? If he is, what's he doing hanging about with Celia? Anyway, his wife is never pictured, so he could have been estranged, separated, or divorced. Anyway, moving on...)

Adam makes a bet with one of his singers, Tom - a case of brandy says that Tom can't have another singer, Nicoletta, by first night. Celia gets wind of this plan and is pretty ticked off with Adam - some of the looks that she throws him are priceless! However, Nicoletta begins to develop feelings for Tom as he starts spending time with her. Celia and Nicoletta were friends before the storyline began, and Nicoletta just got over a bad breakup with a much older man. Celia confides in Tom what Nicoletta likes in a man, and the fun begins. You will laugh as things get twisted and hearts get broken and mended.

You don't need a knowledge of Cosi fan Tutte to view this movie - in fact, you'll most likely want to watch this movie again!

I actually saw this movie twice in two days, once when housesitting and another time with my brother. I did skip forward through one or two scenes (he's 14) for his sake... there are several choice swear words (including a few f-bombs from Sarah's character), some nudity (female), and some gay sexuality.

As a fan of opera and of movies, this is clearly my cup of tea. It's the story of a group that has gathered in a stately mansion (think Downton Abbey) to rehearse and perform the opera Cosi fan Tutte. In the large cast there are several stories going on of love, friendship, as well as loss and jealousy. The setting is beautiful and the film is visually and orally rich. In the excellent cast, Richard E Grant is familiar to many Americans as is Julian Ovenden to those who enjoyed the Foyle's War series.

i wasnt sure what i was going to see after i ordered it but for .98 i thought to take a chance and glad i did. it was a light hearted fun story kinda Big Chill meets Midsummer Nights (woody allen one) and its just fluff but to see the beautiful Sarah Brightman in anything i'm happy and the rest of the cast were fine. it did take a little to get into the 'fun' but i enjoyed it and for .98 cant go wrong :)

I bought this video because I collect Sarah Brightman music and videos. This is a bit of British fluff but fun to watch. Background to the story line wasn't well defined in the beginning of the film.

World renown soprano, Sarah Brightman, stars as the feisty Celia, on orchestra conductor. This is a modern, hilarious version, of A Mid-Summer Nights Dream. See it!!!
