Back-Cutting Design for Smooth, Professional Paneling
If architectural accuracy is a priority to you, the 99-500 is your answer. Thanks to its back-cutting design, this router bit can produce panels that are absolutely flush with a doorframe and have a full 1-1/2 inch reveal.
Use the 99-500 Raised Panel Router Bit with Back Cutter on any table-mounted portable router that accepts a 1/2-inch shank for creating professional-quality raised panels on doors and paneling, as well as decorative tops, plaques, and molding. The resulting panels will exhibit a glassy smoothness, even when you're tackling cross-grain applications.
Create a classic double-sided look on your panels with the patented 54-562 radius back cutter--or, if you're looking for a more contemporary appearance, replace it with the optional 54-560 square back cutter. To give you compatibility with most stile and rail cutters, the kit includes shims that allow for tongue thickness adjustments.
The 99-500 features a 7/8-inch carbide height that easily accommodates stock measuring 3/4 inches.
Durable Design with Protective Coating to Resist Heat and Corrosion
Freud equips all of their router bits with their exclusive TiCo Hi-Density MicroGrain carbide for maximum durability and cutting life. In addition, Freud shields their bits from heat, rust, corrosion and wear by coating all of their Quadra-Cut Router Bits with their exclusive non-stick, red Perma-SHIELD coating.
The 99-500 Raised Panel Router Bit is 2-51/64-inches long with a 1/2-inch shank and an overall diameter of 2-19/32 inches. This bit produces a beautiful two-radius design with a large radius of 3/4 inches and a small radius of 7/64 inches for a unique, custom look. Freud cutting tools are backed by the Freud Limited Lifetime Cutting Tool Warranty to ensure customer satisfaction with every purchase.

Freud Router Bits are known for their exceptional quality, unmatched precision and maximum cutting life. The bits are carefully crafted using the best materials, the industry's most sophisticated manufacturing processes, and include exclusive Freud features such as TiCo Hi-Density Carbide and red Perma-SHIELD non-stick coating. Freud's bits also contain revolutionary, innovative designs such as Quadra-Cut and Double-Grind.
TiCo Hi-Density carbide is a specially formulated, highly compact Titanium Cobalt Carbide engineered and manufactured by Freud to maximize performance on all Freud cutting tools. Designed in Freud research and development laboratories, Freud's TiCo Hi-Density carbide is scientifically developed using Titanium Carbide, Cobalt and Tungsten (as well as proprietary elements), to produce a supreme product. Carbide size is extremely important when it comes to sharpness as well as the rate at which an edge wears. The larger the carbide grain, the faster an edge will wear. While standard carbides measure as large as 5 microns, and an advanced micrograin carbide can measure 1 micron, Freud's TiCo Hi-Density Carbide is miniscule in comparison at .8 microns, with a laminate blend as small as .4 microns.
