Book Description

May 22, 2012
New York Times bestselling author, former Speaker of the House, and Fox News political analyst and Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has a plan for slashing gas prices and reducing our long-term dependence on foreign oil.

Gingrich is famous for taking big, visionary ideas and boiling them down into practical solutions for the American people and in his new book, $2.50 A Gallon: Why Obama Is Wrong and Cheap Gas Is Possible, Gingrich tackles America's energy crisis.

Dealing not only with spiraling gas prices, but with all aspects of energy policy, Gingrich shows how we can safely reap the benefits of America's own natural resources and technology in gas, oil, coal, wind, solar, biofuels and nuclear energy.

Gingrich argues that the pinch Americans are feeling at the pump is not a blip in the economy but a looming crisis—affecting not only the price of gas, but the price of food, the strength of our economy, and our national security.
To meet this crisis, Gingrich lays out a national strategy that will tap America's scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs, and require Congress to unlock our oil reserves and remove all the impediments and disincentives that unnecessary government regulation has put in the way of American energy independence.

The energy crisis is solvable, as Newt Gingrich's plan makes clear. His handbook, $2.50 A Gallon: Why Obama Is Wrong and Cheap Gas Is Possible, is sure to become the talk of the presidential campaign season.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gingrich nails it again June 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This energy handbook is a must-read for every American who wants to understand the roots of our current energy crisis. Gingrich systematically demolishes the misinformation, misconceptions, and myths about why America can't become energy independent. As this book reveals, the extent of America's energy resources are astonishingly abundant--and most of them are owned by the federal government, held off-limits from development that could dramatically lower the cost of energy and create a consistent stream of revenue for state and local governments.

Gingrich reveals the true extent of the federal government's opposition to a sensible energy policy, including ridiculous abuses of power that you'll hardly believe, like using century-old laws to prosecute oil companies simply because one or two birds were found dead somewhere on their thousands of acres of property.

But in addition to offering a compelling case against the nonsensical energy policies of the current administration (and a perfect blueprint for Republicans discussing the energy issue this fall), Gingrich lays out a clear path to a better, exciting future including breakthroughs in the oil industry, the development of a natural gas infrastructure, and many more revolutionary changes.

It's a fast and easy read, and it will get you up to speed on the astounding progress in energy over the last few years, and arm you with the facts about the Obama administration's energy delusions. I highly recommend it.

The solutions to the existing energy deficit and our dependence on foreign oil can be solved. We have the resources both oil and natural gas and the technology to solve our energy problems. We need to get politics out of the equation and develop a viable long-range plan.

Newt's account of the oil, gas, natural gas and alternative energy sources is systematically examined, and solutions provided.
No one brings up the fact the the wind turbines have the same problem as jets airplanes with the birds
getting caught in them!!! Some people only worried about the (under 10) animals effected by XL Pipeline.
We could actually solve the enormus national debt, with his vision! A page turner!
