yes, these balls are harder than some and make a little more noise when the dryer is first started, but that didn't really bother me so I figured I would give them a shot. I bought two sets of these balls in July, by October at least one of the balls was falling apart. The prior set that I had bought in a retail store lasted at least 3 years before it finally cracked. I would recommend trying the Dryer Max brand, which is about $15 here on amazon but I found at a local Micheals for $7.99 - you can find an many "as seen on TV" sections of retailers for $8-10.

Honestly I was a skeptic, how could these balls do anything good in the dryer??
Now I'm gald I ordered them, I think they will save on the power bill, clothes seem to dry faster, with less wrinkles!! I Actually saw a much more expensive item, look for them on Amazon , found these for 1/4 the price!!!

These dryer balls are made of incredibly hard plastic.
I attempted using these dryer balls only once so far. It was a small load of laundry and they made horrible noise so I took them out. Will try again with a big load of laundry, hopefully it will be a quieter experience.

I also own Dryer Balls As Seen on TV which are made of rubber and hardly make any noise in the dryer.

Every six months, I buy 2 of these balls. They work better then fabric bounce sheets which I am allergic to. These balls are the best.

As the title says, these dryer balls are hard plastic and are VERY loud in the dryer. Since my dryer is on the other side of the wall where my TV is, I didn't use them for long, and went back to dryer sheets.
