5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album
I at first bought the 12" for U Don't Know Me, and I absolutly LOVE that song. The vocals have a great message behind them, and its just a great song. But the 2 Future 4 U album is packed with great tracks, I enjoy every song very much. The beat in Entra mi Casa is very addictive and fast. Buy this Album

3.0 out of 5 stars new york deep house for the masses?
Early morning in the car, station surfing when I stumbled upon "you don't know me"'s addictive hook and loop. With in seconds I'm singing along, drawn into the cheesy loop, instantly longing to return to the the club I had just departed from. Over the next few week's it becomes a heavy favorite. The feel of "you don't know me" is almost reminisent...

2 Future 4 U is not really too future for you...it's actually fairly standard electronic/dance fare. Tracks bounce from straight ahead techno to house to hip-hoppy big bounce. Not all tracks come off like magic, but Armand is probably one of the most competent DJs in the world...so he gets much love

WHY THIS TALENTED PRODUCER IS NOT BIGGER IN THE STATES IS THE QUESTIONS OF THE MILLINIUM. TO LISTEN TO THIS CD IS TO HEAR HARMONY. FROM BASS HEAVY BEATS TO THE SEDATED SOUNDS OF MOTHER EARTH THIS JOINT HAS TRACKS FROM BEGINNING TO END THAT ARE PLEASING TO THE EARDRUMS. IT IS A MUST BUY. IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, I WILL BUY IT FROM YOU.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tight beats, dope treats!, August 31, 2000

I really enjoy Armand's work. He has a very distinct style and seems to enjoy using various items for musical effect -- and example is a good ole handsaw as a beatline for one song. Overall his album is so-so, with highlights including "Psychic Bounty Killaz," and "U don't know me" among others. Of course, most people buy this because of U don't know me. Plain and simple, this song is a true anthem, right up there with Stardust, and it's been really hot up here in Northern cali along with Bounty Killaz for quite some time now. I would definetely recommend this album to the clubber fans out there -- it will not dissapoint, as Armand produces a great album to headbob and spin to. __RS

This album is sick. After listening to Killing PUritans, I went out and bought this one and I love it so much. I love the way he plays with the two genres of music, house and hip hop and he messes with them enough to give them the edge it needs. It's not just house, it's not just hip hop. The entire album is smart. Van Helden twists enough nobs to make something familiar different enough for you to look at in a different way and like in a whole new way. It's amazing. As far as those who complain about this being music for the masses? Of course it is. This is business. If you were putting your heart into making an album, wouldn't you want to have as many people listen to it as possible, while striking it rich? please. The beauty of Van Helden is he goes for that and at the same time challenges us in ways we've never thought of being challenged...through music. When was the last time music really challenged you to think? Woodstock, maybe. Certainly not Creed or Stone Temple Pilots or Bush or Britney Spears. Van Helden makes music for the masses so the masses can think. I like that.

The feel of "you don't know me" is almost reminisent of Deelite's late 80's smash "groove is in the heart". Although the rest of the album was considerably flat and standard, "you don't know me" has the power to bring me back to after hours new york.

4.0 out of 5 stars enter THIS house!, May 15, 2003
This review is from: 2 Future 4 U (Audio CD)
first, i have to get something off my chest...
do people really think we take them seriously when their review says things like "this cd is mad dope" or "the new armand joint..." etc... i mean, i can be as ghetto as any of you, but when you write a review, at least TRY to sound like you went to high school and graduated.
but anyways, onwards and upwards.
Great cd, most tracks are a lot of fun, especially with me as a dj, its nice that he left the long intros in (see "boogie monster" "alienz" "bounty killaz" and "entre mi casa")
Mother Earth is a 10 minute song, and it definately doesnt feel like it. it ends and you say to yourself "i wish that had been a little longer" then you realise 10 minutes have passed. great tune.
all in all very good, with very few low spots.
quality.

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT THAT GREAT DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE, September 28, 1999

This review is from: 2 Future 4 U (Audio CD)
After reading the other reviews and being a big fan of Armand I thought this album would knock me off my feet with the classic bouncy beats that Armand is known for.....I WAS REALLY WRONG. The album has this weird hard, and grating affect to it, its very mechanical and metallic, its not the pleasure house ive come to know and love from ARmand, im very disappointed be careful, if house is what your looking for, look away, the one song that made it You dont even know me, is the only joint even remniscent of his style, so take my advice and just get the single

if you have never heard of the song U don't Know Me, you need to. I think this song breaks it down best when it comes to people trying to tell you what you need to do, what you are and where you need to be. Great Album, Super Song.
