We bought our Bunn Ultra 2 about 3 years ago for large parties, and in that setting it works great! Things to consider: it's really heavy! We purchased a stainless steel rolling cart from a restaurant supply and use/store the monster on it. The Bunn has a very nice feature where you can keep any leftover beverage on a "chill" setting instead of "Ice". This is great for times when you will be using it over a couple of days. The Chill setting will keep the beverage at a safe cold temperature then all you have to do is change the setting to ice and it will refreeze the drinks. Since it has a compressor it does make noise. Most people wouldn't even notice at a large noisy party, but if you are sensitive to background noises, it may bug you. It's really easy to dissemble and clean once you get the hang of it. The biggest challenge we found was to purchase the right drink mix. You can't just dump any drink mix in to the machine because it can potentially damage it. What ever mix you use MUST have a certain "Brix" value (google it).Our first purchase was from a company called Frozen Drink Madness. We ordered several different flavors but found them to be overly sweet. I usually add more alcohol to compensate but alcohol acts like an antifreeze, so you have to be careful. We found the best tasting mixes come from "The Margarita Man" which is a franchise. You can google it to see if there is a rep in your area. The strawberry margarita mix is especially good. You don't always have to make full batches either. I give it 5 stars because once you find the right mix, have a large party, it's a real crowd pleaser! If you are going to use it for smaller groups, be prepared to have a lot of left over drinks.
There are times when we feel like we spent too much on something we only use a couple of times a year, but when we fire it up at parties we are really glad we have it.
