5.0 out of 5 stars Oliver Lieb is The Master of electronic music, July 12, 1999
This review is from: Volume 2 (Audio CD)
In the U.S. we hear a lot of discussion in hushed tones about Richard James, Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, and other alleged "geniuses" of electronic music. Those guys are fine, but Oliver Lieb is the Real Deal, a master of trance/techno/ambient compositions whose work always makes me sit up and take notice. He records under several names, including Spicelab and Paragliders, but his most masterful work, I think, is done as "L.S.G." This album, which includes his best-known piece, "Netherworld," is by a very small margin, his best, and is the one I would recommend to anyone curious about this remarkable man and his music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing trance!, March 16, 1999

If you like good, intelligent, layered/built trance, and you can get hold of this, or most anything by L.S.G. (Oliver Lieb), you'll probably be glad you did. I love this cd, as well as his other "Rendevous in Outer Space". His music is exciting to me because it has the repetition to make me wanna move, AND it also has intriguing melodic builds, layers of sounds and percussions and samples that add and fade at the right moments to build and release musical tensions.

5.0 out of 5 stars What is Trance? You're listening to it..., February 13, 2009

This is trance. This is the damn best trance album out there. This is what is and was trance before it got all distorted and over commercialized. Each music period has a different icon that best represents a particular genre and without a doubt, Oliver Lieb is the meistro best suited to represent this genre. This album is perhaps his best of works. Its melodic, intelligent, energetic and passionate at the same time. Its the perfect journey through trance music.

If you're getting into electronica right now then this is a timeless piece that you must own. It is old and hard to find but when you finally get it, you will be amazed at how stunning and beautiful it is. Its timeless in its composition. Just dont listen to it before going to sleep, you will never fall asleep. A++
