Like a few others I had my doubts about this product, but I bought the spray anyway. Anything was worth a try. I was getting tired of throwing out bed pillows. Let me tell you...It works! It smells pretty good too. I've sprayed it on my bedspread, pillows, and couch. Where I spray Feliway, they don't scratch there. My 3 cats seem relaxed and are happy. I've also purchased one for my sister and she likes it for her cats too.

Feliway is said to contain the pheromones cats associate with pleasant situations, pheromones released from the cheek region and chin like when a cat rubs its chin against you it is because the cat enjoys you and wants to mark you as "his" property. Mother cats scent their young with these same pheromones and if the cat smells these scents it is calm inducing so the cat remains calm and doesnt feel the need to scent with urine as some do when under stress, like another cat outside or too many cats in a small area. I have had success with the pheromone scenting but it does need to be applied faithfully 3 or 4 times a day initially and one must be commited to making it work as it only seems to work with very frequent (3-4 times a day) applications which however can be decreased as time goes on. I have found a useful "schedule" for its applications on another site which offers advice for curtailing urine marking in cats and there are many such sites on the internet. I would recommend this product but the user must be commited to a long term (over weeks) program and for those expecting a quick fix or with intermittent applications this will not work as effectively if it all.

First off let me say I didn't expect this to work. In fact I didn't even buy it. My sister bought it for me when I was about to bring my 18 pound, 4 year old, fixed Maine Coon cat Tigger back to the shelter. He would just start attacking people (mostly me) for no apparent reason, flying around the house growling, scratching furniture and people. He would sit next to you purring and just turn and bite you.
He didn't have litter issues, and there would be weeks when he seemed fine, but then he would become possessed of some cat demon and off we'd go. After 3 years-trying all sorts of behavior modifiers- I had had enough. That's when my sister bought Feliway for me (both the spray and the room diffuser).
I tell you, I really didn't think it would work (and was prepared for him to go at the next attack) but it's been over 2 months and no attacks! If he seems a little antsy, I spray the stuff around and a few minutes later he's sitting and calmly cleaning himself. That's a bonus too, his hair isn't getting mats in it like it used to. At first I sprayed about twice a day, every day. Now it's more like once a day or even every other day and he's fine. I highly recommend this product.

I am so glad I found this product and didn't give up on it. The first week it didn't work to well for me, but soon I after reading online, I figured what my problem was. I was using Clorox Bleach Cleaner and Wipes and you are not supposed to, so after cleaning my house on a daily basis with no success I was really about to cry. Maybe i did. How much pee can a person handle? Sooo I changed the way I cleaned. I used on the cabinets couch etc... an enzyme containing laundry detergent and after that I sprayed it with a 50/50 solution of water and distilled white vinegar. On the carpets I used the vinegar solution let it sit for a few minutes, then try to dry it with paper towels as much as possible and then apply some baking soda on it and let it sit preferably overnight. Wow it changed for markings every day to hardly any. I kept spraying the Feliway and checking the whole house every day for new markings. After 3 weeks no more markings. It's been now about 9 weeks and I haven't had any new markings in over a month. I stopped using the spray about 3 weeks ago but haven't cleaned the spots yet that I marked. My husband was making fun of me running around with that spray every morning and evening. He called it Mommy is marking again LOL. If you try it don't give up on it. It's not an overnight miracle, but if you use it right it will work great. Just make sure to clean previous markings properly.

Feliway can be a miracle cure for some cats but will not work for every cat. Buy a spray bottle and test it out before you buy all the plug-ins. Try using the collar-spraying technique (see below) to save money and make it more effective.

I have a large multi-cat household (all fixed) so I have been able to observe the effects of Feliway on many different cats. Some seem to be affected very little, some are strongly affected.

One of my cats gets stressed out easily and then tends to get urinary tract infections. He also gets very aggressive with some of my other cats. Luckily he also responds really well to Feliway. Now I can prevent urinary tract infections and eliminate aggression just by spraying his collar every 1 to 3 days with Feliway. This is highly effective because he has the smell close to him all the time. It's also economical because used this way one bottle lasts a long time. (Another tip: make sure you use a breakaway or other safety collar and keep an extra handy. If your cat seems to be responding less, give him a new collar and/or wash the old one.)

I am manager of a small regional newspaper - and we have two cats in our office. They had been really good buddies until one week-end they began fighting - not a playful "bug-tussell" but caterwauling, claws out, blood bringing HATE each other fighting. We tried to keep them separated so they wouldn't kill each other. I ordered Feliway because I had used it before for a pee-in-the-corner cat. I brought the spray to the office and squirted it around. One cat was outside the office where the other cat was confined - they stared at each other, I wafted the Feliway in the area - it was a miracle, no fighting, no howling. This product is wonderful stuff. Thanks for returning our cats to their normal sweet selves.

Feliway is an essential product to have in your home of any number of cats. It's a reassurance blanket for them that the new object or place is safe, and reassurance for you that they won't try to mark it and claim it part of their territory. Cats are designed to do that, but this Pheromone spray will make it smell like they've already rubbed up against it, so it must be part of their home, so there's no need to mark it. Their minds will be set at ease, and so will yours. It's good to keep around for new things, kitty carriers (because you know how much they love those...), and for reinforcing the "happy feeling" around problem areas like doors to the outside, corners or other "landmark" type structures in the home. When used in conjunction with Feliway diffusers, there's not much to worry about except when you run out. It's like keeping the soft music playing in the background to keep tensions low and serenity high.

Had problems with a cat peeing in a particular spot. Have been consistently spraying with Feliway, and no more problems!

As long as I spray this every day, there are no problems with improper urination on my floors any more!!

To make it even better, my package arrived beautifully protected and ahead of schedule.

Unfortunately even though this sounds like something that might work, it did not work for my cat in helping him to refrain from urinating on the floor. I have tried other products as well but to no avail!
