It seems like most of the USB hubs on the market are gimmicky junk.
Mr. Rob
It does, however, sit a little loosely in the bracket, but that isn't a huge issue.
S. Barrett
These are great for utilizing those usb 2 headers on your motherboard.

I installed three of these in the machine I just built. They all function perfectly and they're certainly cheap, but the USB ports themselves are made with very loose tolerances and when plugging a USB cable in, the fit is not tight at all, to the point that an accidental tug on the cable could easily pull it out.

Many motherboards have unused USB headers, and you need a product like this to make use of them. Rather than buying a hub, check to see if your motherboard has additional USB headers being unused.

If so, buy a product like this and install it.

This particular product comes with the common double-row pin layout plug, where there are 5 pins on one side and 4 pins parallel. This is the common type you will find on most motherboards.

My motherboard has 4 connectors or 8 USB capable, but just used 3 of them. Hence I decided to get one more pair for whatever reason.

I can't use its bracket, so the sockets are left floating. But to my surprise, I am about 2 inch short to extend outside the box!

I finally find cables for extension, but not so good a solution that I lost use of half of my external devices.

For the price, what do you expect?! I paid under $5. I like that the header connector is a single plug (not two 4-pins). The expansion slot adapter is a bit whimpy = not going to hold up to frequent plugging/unplugging. The two female receptacles are a bit big and clunky, but you don't notice that after its installed anyways.

One of two fell apart and the second one's screws do not seem long enough to securely hold the USB ports.

Works exactly like you would expect. It does, however, sit a little loosely in the bracket, but that isn't a huge issue.
