This is an execellent book if all you want to do is understand the principles of how the engine works and some general problem solving. In my experience with model engines, it is most common that the carburetter needs adjustment and that is where this book is really lacking.

This is a great technical book, but may be a bit dated (copyright 1994). In spite of that, it belongs in every model engine fan's library because there rarely one book that is comprehensive enough, but this one comes close. Combine it with Volume II with the same name and you may "have it all." It is written very well and has superb illustrations and photographs.
