Told by company that it would take up to four weeks!,
This review is from: 2-Year Replacement Plan for Electronics Products $50 to $74.99 (Electronics)
I am the type of person that ALWAYS buys the extra warranty on whatever I purchase. However, I started reading the reviews on this company and many people reported that it was four weeks and counting and they still hadn't received their refund check. I was astonished. I contacted N.E.W. myself and asked them about this. With no shame or embarrassment on the part of the customer service reps, I was informed that if I did everything by email, it would take AT LEAST 15 business days (that's three weeks!) to receive my refund check AFTER I sent them the warrantied item. If I had them send me a pre-paid label for the defective item instead of using my own printer, it would take a week for me to receive and at least a week for them to receive the covered item. In other words, it would take no less than four weeks to receive the replacement check and possibly up to eight weeks! I cancelled the contract immediately. It is just not worth it when you really do the math to purchase this contract. I would recommend buying a product from a company that first makes a quality product and then back it up with a good warranty and gives good customer service such as Grado, Sennheiser or Koss. But stay away from these people; that's my feeling and my advice.

I paid for it and got an e-mail link but have yet to receive the written conformation. Called the 1800#. It's been a month. If it's this hard to get the plan I wonder how it will be if I need to replace my product.

I made the phone call the have a defective MP3 player replaced and they told me they were emailing me a postage paid label. I received a label that showed I'd need to put postage on it, so I called again. They assured me that the bar code on the label would show that the postage is paid. The postage required me to pay it. Made a third phone call and was told that they will not pay postage.I was never sent my service contract, so I had to go to the website to even find out what the details were. It shouldn't take 3 phone calls to get something taken care of. We'll see how long it takes to get my MP3 player actually replaced. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!

Replacement Plans,
This review is from: 2-Year Replacement Plan for Electronics Products $50 to $74.99 (Electronics)
The plan came as promised, but the item that it covers is listed nowhere on the contract. If I needed to replace the item, would the contract cover it?

"Warranty" is way lesser than that of the manufacturer. It's limited to the US, the manufacturer's is worldwide. If something goes wrong with the product they send you (on your time and nickel), to a "service place", while the manufacturer has a no questions asked replacement policy. Their product is called a "Replacement Plan" not a "wild goose chase plan". They take 8 weeks to refund your money. Caveat Emptor!!May 22, 2009: So the refund happened within 5 or so days. My sense is it has to do with the squeaky wheel syndrome. I still do not appreciate their "bait and switch". When they appear right there with the product you're buying, you tend to assume they were chosen by Amazon as a top notch company. Considering the reviews of the item I was buying: V-Moda Vibe Duo Ear buds / Headset (iPhone Compatible) - Chrome I thought the "extra coverage" would be appropriate. A lot of people were saying that it was a great ear plug set except that it fails almost systematically within months or a year. Again: Caveat Emptor!

I had bought at crappy Coby mp3 player. It died on me once within the 1st 30 days of owning it. I returned it and got a brand new one free of charge (from Coby since it was still within 30 days) 3 months later the second device crapped out on me. At this point I tried contacting Coby and got no help. Then I remembered I had paid for the insurance. I found the insurance info made the call and I few weeks later I received a check for the full price of the MP3 player. So glad I got this insurance.

Bought this extended warranty to cover an espresso machine I purchased from an Amazon partner. The warranty papers were supposed to arrive on August 26, 2007. They arrived on September 22, after two phone calls. All that was provided was a single two-sided standard warranty form with no specific references to my product. Why it was such a problem to fold a sheet of paper in thirds and stick it in an envelope is beyond me. In addition, they needed every detail off the invoice to check into my case, they couldn't pull up any records otherwise. Makes me wonder what will happen if I have a warranty claim. On the bright side: It seems that my product was registered even before I received the contract in writing, so if there had been a problem with the espresso maker, they could have processed the claim. Also, there doesn't seem to be a problem connecting to a service agent at their 800 number, which is manned 24 hours, and you get to deal with someone in the US, not New Delhi. I'm not recommending not buying their coverage, but be prepared.

I purchased this warranty for an MP3 player. Sure enough, the screen went out at a year and a few months. I called the company, the guy took my info and sent me a mailing label via email. I had to pay postage to mail the player back to them, but the sent a check to me for the full cost of the player within a week.

Most projectors fail within a few years, this is a no brainer in my Opinion.
