5.0 out of 5 stars Easy crocheting patterns January 26, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Quick easy items to make using odds and ends of yarn. This would be good for teaching a beginner's crocheting class.

3.0 out of 5 stars Crochet patterns... January 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Were basic patterns and stitches. You can easily find these on the internet. There are better patterns on revelry. Although this is not too bad for beginners.

I can find hundreds of free patterns on the internet that are better and more original than these patterns. Boring.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! Great for beginners.
Love it! This book is great for those who are beginners with no one around to help teach them. The added part was the video links which helps in showing – like a tutorial. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
This was a very amateur effort at publishing. Whatever value the actual crochet patterns might have is lost in the way this book was put together. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Not too interesting
This may be great for others, but it wasn't the easy and quick things I wanted. It's hard to buy a good pattern book site unseen.

More About the Author

My name is Lisa Hamblin. My husbands name is Tim, and we have one teenage daughter named Haley. We have two dogs: a four year old miniature schnauzer named Sawyer who says "mama" all the time and a two year old yorkipoo named Khloe who is always into something and likes to smile and go for rides in the car. I have been blessed to be a stay at home mom for the last 16 years. I am blessed beyond measure... God is good!

Crocheting has been a passion of mine for many years. My earliest memory of crocheting was in the late 1970's. I was in seventh grade and I can remember crocheting chains that were endless. I would carry big purses so I could take my crocheting with me to school. I loved the classes I had where I could put my purse in my lap and sneak in a few stitches.

When I was a child I remember watching family members crochet. My Aunt Brenda was working on an afghan one Christmas Eve and she let me try making a half double crochet stitch. She was almost out of yarn and when I finished the skein she let me rip out stitches just so I could make them again. I was "hooked".

I used to watch my cousin, Donna, make all sorts of things. She made hotpads and the prettiest crocheted cheerleader dolls I had ever seen. I was so intrigued at how she could look at a crochet pattern and know what she had to do to make an item. I had to learn this!

Mom and Dad would take me and my sister to K-Mart and let us by "one thing" each. I always ended up in the craft supplies and sometimes they would let me buy "two things"... yarn and a crochet hook. I would sit for hours trying to make things. I bought my first pattern book thinking I could make the sweater that was pictured on the cover. Boy! I was wrong. There was way more to this crocheting thing than I thought. After years of trying I finally made my first afghan (without a pattern) for my Mom. It ended up measuring at least twice the length of our couch and was only two or three feet wide. But Mom loved it! She would wrap it around her shoulders and tuck the ends beneath her feet. She would tell everyone that was her favorite blanket because she could wrap up in it. I was proud.

I hope you can find as much enjoyment from crocheting as I have?
