Oscar Chavez has arguably been the leader of Mexico's social protest/grassroots movement for the last 20 years. This album focuses on the grassroots element, although El Tango Alegre - a cynical analysis of Judeo-Christian beliefs - is heavy on social criticism. I particularly like Macondo, La Lloroncita, Perdon, Un Ano Mas Sin Ti & No Salgas Nina a la Calle. All in all, good arrangements, very smart lyrics & 20 tracks make this CD a great purchase.
