That's right, this is a collection of mostly the 60's countrypolitan stereo remakes of the 1950's classics with a sprinkling of originals from the 1960's but the re-recordings are definitely enough to let you all know that this CD is not recommended and that I recommend the Legacy "Look What Thoughts Will Do" 2 CD set with only the originals. It may be a little higher priced but it delivers what it promises, the originals. The disc is rated 1 star for the heavy amount of re-recordings (many awful performances) and another star for the sprinkling of originals.

A 'Tee-Vee'recordings offering, this album includes a number of key early 60's 'countrypolitan' re-recordings of Frizell's early recordings, with a sprinkling of un-remastered originals as well. The re-recordings are a mix, with an obscene 'Always Late', preceded by an almost better than the original 'I Want to be With You Always'. A mixed bag, I'd recommend going for the higher priced re-mastered original recordings.

Lefty Frizzell's "Golden 20" CD holds some of the best country music I've heard in years. I had forgotten just how good the man was and why he left such a big imprint on country music. You can still hear his influence, of course, in many of Merle Haggert's songs and even in some of Dwight Yoakam's stuff. Gotta say, however, only Merle gets close to being as good. If you want to hear some 1st Class Country, be you Merle Haggart or just a country-music-lovin'-bumpkin' like me, buy this CD! Pure 5-Star!

I ordered this CD after hearing some of Lefty's songs on Willie's Place on Serius XM. This is an excellent CD. I was familiar with some of the songs, but not all of them. They're all great, and there is something so soothing and mellow about his voice. I've listened to it a lot, and I never get tired of it.

One of the best recordings by one of the best country artists of the fifties and sixties. If you like Lefty, You will love this one.

Gees! I am so plum sick and tired of reading 1 star, off the wall reviews of CD's that have excellently done 60's Nashville Sound style remakes of Lefty's fine hits! Folks! if you do not like these 60's country remakes, then you do not even like country music! period! these 1 star mean spirited, negative reviews of a well respected artist like Mr. Frizzell should be in the trash! Okay, now, if they are 80's rerecordings of 50's and 60's hits, yes, I might agree if their voices aren't the greatest or strongest. With this CD however! come! on! these 60's recordings are beautiful! well, well done! Now, the only Lefty Frizzell CD set I have and will always, always treasure, is the award winning, comprehensive 12 CD Bear Family box set of his complete recordings called Life's Like Poetry. Absolutely, highly recommended for all Lefty fans like myself. These awesome rerecordings are on that wonderful set so quite obviously I didn't buy this one, but I just adore these fantastic remakes. Highly, highly recommended for respected fans, only! like myself.

This is a remake of Lefty Frizzell's old time hits. It sure brought back many memories of our dating days and the early days of our marrage. It was great to hear him again after all these years.

I was a young boy some 55 years ago, when Lefty Frizzell was popular. Will never forget the songs of those days. Was truly glad that his music was put on CD's

I love Lefty and all his music but the CD hangs up on every cut.

After a 50 year hiatus listening to country music I am back to listening to and purchasing the music of the old time greats. This is a tremendous CD reminding me why Lefty was right up there among my favorites.
