Product Description

Product Description

Strictly speaking, 20 Questions isn't a game that you need special rules or a board for. But innovative as ever, University Games makes a good thing better with a fun design and a little extra help for younger players. This product features a game board (2 to 10 players race around a question mark-shaped circuit) and 150 question cards (for 3,000 total clues). Each card has a person, place, thing, or year (either recent or otherwise noteworthy, like 1989 or 1776) with 20 clues about the subject. Players take turns trying to figure out the clues ("My favorite cat wears a hat," "I am a doctor who has no patients"), and both the reader and the guesser advance based on how quickly the subject gets figured out.

My seven year old daughter loves to play this game! I love it because it's very educational. She enjoys using her knowledge from school and just general knowledge to figure out the answer. She's learned a lot of new things, too.

I own the original Twenty Questions for Kids. The game is great but some of the cards in the original version are now outdated (esp. in the people category). I was hoping for more current cards but it seems like only a few have been added. This game was a disappointment. Also one of the game pieces was broken when I opened the box.

I was very surprised how the kids in the 5th grade just enjoy this game. Everyone gets involved, they think, they laugh and it is an all around great fun. Something to keep them busy when they can't go outside. They actually take turns and really listen to the person asking the questions. I even find myself getting into the game and enjoy watching the kids take turns, no fighting and and enjoying playing a game. Some questions they really have to think about. It is a great family game. Questions range from T.V. to history, to objects, and also things around the house. I am going to get this game for my family. Your kids will have a great time, and so will you.

I have owned this game for about 12 years and I use it often in my job as a speech pathologist in the public schools. The kids enjoy it and find it rewarding, while it also helps them develop their reasoning and language comprehension skills. Some of the people cards may be outdated now, but most are still usable. I also like the fact that some cards are easier and some are harder, so I can preselect which cards are appropriate to the kids I'm working with (3rd grade through high school).

While this is a great game, I had purchased it to use with middle school students who are classified mildly special ed and its rules and some of the questions were definitely too difficult. But, a great game nonetheless, for other purposes.

As a Title I Reading teacher, I love games that require some critical thinking and reading comprehension skills. I've used this with kids as young as second grade and as old as sixth. My students love to play, and they really do well with it.

For a family, I'm sure adults and kids could enjoy this together, considering the "riddle" element that allows for chances for a certain card to be harder depending on the questions that are chosen. My friends and I love the adult game, and I've used it (but weeded out some extra-tricky cards) with 4th grade and up in school.

Playing with kids second grade and under, it can be good to have an adult watching-not-playing to help with some of the tougher words, but if need be, they can cover the rest of the card with their hands and get help from the others. There are no real killer difficult words, and the answers are mostly very familiar even to that age group.

I love the game and have used it so many times and in so many situations that I wouldn't be without it. I'm sure I'll need to own another set when I've got kids of my own.
