5.0 out of 5 stars This CD Soars!
This versatile and smooth group can really deliver. There's is a complex, fresh sound that can rock, and it can groove in the jazzier veign as well.

Their approach seems to broaden with this release, with the like of "South American Sojourn". Really like "Sweet Baby James" and "The Deep End."

High energy sound that is balanced, refined...

The sounds of Spyro Gyra are always quite pleasing. Soothing horns, pretty piano touches, and good rhythms.

This collection features more easy listening jazz tunes as opposed to the stunning fusion jams on Catching The Sun and Morning Dance. There is a little less instrumental definiton on this release than on prior recordings as Jay Beckstein gets much of the spotlight. Nonetheless, there are some pretty new age touches particularly on the stunning South American Sojourn and Dark-Eyed Lady. The Unwritten Letter and Ruled By Venus have fairly captivating melodies as well.

Whereas I prefer Morning Dance and Catching The Sun to this, I respect the talents of Spyro Gyra as they certainly have several captivating moments on 20 20.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb Funk-jazz!!, August 5, 2001
This review is from: 20/20 (Audio CD)
I just HAVE to say it: Spyro Gyra RULES!! This is the best and 'grooviest' funk/jazz CD in my collection. My personal favorite is track 2, "Ruled by Venus". The groove, feeling and solos are just perfect! I have to smile every time I hear this album. My Spyro Gyra #1!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool & Pleasure Music Spiritual Festiva, Viva!, August 29, 1998
This review is from: 20/20 (Audio CD)
If you're a Jazz fan, I believe that you won't be disappointment what the Spyro Gyra has been brought to you for their music performance during these decades. The style what they brought with their inner most compassionate is not only their professionalism, indeed, use the music to tell a story is not a new trick, but to interpret their feeling & tenderness by adding their style into each title, Spyro Gyra is the #1. No matter it is a new or old title, it is always a surprise & pleasure to taste each title what they has been well prepared for their audience. Especially in this album, it is always a cool & comfortable enjoyment when their music is on the air! Viva! Spyro Grya!
