Nicely observed n damn cute with it...,

I picked this book up at Gatwick before flying to the US and it was the perfect read for a 9 hour flight - I read it from cover to cover. At times, the dialogue can be slightly clanky but there are some touchingly accurate n profound observations as well that more than balance out the book. Ms Bosnak handles my late twenties crisis really well!

Fun Read,

Realizing she has reached her sexual partner limit, Delilah takes off on a road trip to try to reconnect with ex-lovers. Well, hopefully at least one!! This novel makes a fun read. It's an interesting as Delilah makes her way across the United States to look up old boyfriends and see if they still have that chemistry. Will she realize an old-flame is the one? Will her first love turn out to be her life-long love? I highly recommend finding out.

This girl will crack you up!!! I was laughing through her first book "Save Karyn" and her second did not disappoint. I can't wait until her next book comes out. You all should definitely read if you want to be entertained.

I have to agree with most of the posts that the author is very witty and most of what she wrote was laugh out loud funny. The ending was predictable and it was irritating to see that the main character could be so dimwitted as to bother looking up her "loser" ex-boyfriends. Hadn't she heard the saying, never go back?
This should have been a quick read, but what irritated me were all the editor errors. It really took away from the book and there were so many I wondered if the editor had something against the author. It wasn't just the occasional typo. There were added words, missing words and in some areas had to be read over. If you need some laughter in your life, then go ahead and borrow it from someone or go on the authors blog and try and win one for free.

Karyn has a knack for writing! Like her first book, as soon as I sat down and started reading.........I WAS IN STITCHES!! This is a LAUGH OUT LOUD enjoy to read! Be careful you aren't in a quite place, people will look!
If you want an easy, fun completely whacky book, this is the one. YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN! I don't know where she comes up with the ideas she has, but I hope she keeps writing.............KARYN'S AWESOME!!!

I bought the book the day after it came out and I've already finished it. I loved it so much that I couldn't put it down. The main character, Delilah, is someone I can relate to. Her journey accross the states will have you laughing and blushing thanking God that you're not in her shoes. This book is full of comic relief and heart felt moments. You can definately see the authors wit shine through.

Can't believe this was published..,

I'll preface this review by stating that I'm an English major at a reputable private university, and I do not normally read chick-lit. However, I thought I would give this "novel" a chance; I liked the concept - we all have regrets and it sounded like a lighthearted, fun read. It started out fine, albeit a little unbelievable, but kept getting more and more outlandish (at one point the dog she adopts while on this road trip poops in her lap, and she proceeds to throw the poop out of her car window, and it just happens to land on the windshield of a cop car).
What upset me most about this book, though, was the fact that it was obviously completely unedited. I could not believe that it was actually published by Harper Collins. I found multiple spelling and grammar errors (more than multiple - I counted and it came out to be about one mistake per every eight pages). Towards the end, there were mistakes on EVERY page; sentences that omitted the letter "the," other sentences that had the same word written twice in a row, quotation marks where there should not have been quotation marks - you name it, it was there. As upset as I am about wasting money on this book, I'm tempted to send it back to the publisher with the mistakes edited, as I have no desire whatsoever to keep this book on my bookshelf.

Cute fun read,
This review is from: 20 Times a Lady: A Novel (Paperback)
This is no literary masterpiece but it is a fun quick read if you are interested in reading about a girl's search for her true love among her exes. It was fairly obvious to me who our protagonist would end up with but it was fun to see her get there.
If you like chick lit then you will enjoy this!

Where was her editor?,

While I liked the concept as well as the storytelling, I was frequently distracted by the mistakes. There were so many missing words, incorrect tenses, etc., that I'm wondering if anyone actually edited this book before printing. Very aggravating.

Predictable and poorly written,
This review is from: 20 Times a Lady: A Novel (Paperback)
This book is awful. It pains me to say that because I adore Karyn. She is hilarious on her blog, so I really expected more from this book.
The writing is poor. There are a few funny parts, but mostly it is just recycled humor from other books and fluffy dialogue. Also, the book has a ton of typos, which drives me crazy. Whoever proofread this book should be fired. The storyline is outlandish and the ending predictable. It is no surprise that this is being made into a movie because it is just the kind of thing that women today seem to love. I, for one, will not be wasting my money to see the movie. I am just glad I got the book from the library and didn't spend money buying it. |
