An essential farm & ranch tool with versatile applications around the house. The rake-head is made from a special thermo-plastic composite that's lightweight (4 lbs with handle), flexible and also highly resilient. The blunt tips won't dig or catch like metal rakes and the tines flex around obstacles. Unloading a scoop of leaves is much easier, too - the tips won't pierce and hold leaves like traditional rakes. The rake includes 46" hardwood handle (total assembled length 56") to minimize back strain and the D-handle provides a much more comfortable grip - especially when twisting the handle to dump a load of leaves into wagon or bag. 20 non-corroding non-stick thermo-plastic composite tines are spaced 7/8" apart (16 positioned flat; 2 outermost tines on each side are joined for strength and tilt up-and-in to holding materials in place. Rake-head 16"W x 14"L. Rake ships without handle attached - simply insert the handle and attach with included wood screw.****

The rake is not any good for what it is advertised to do. It is made of some kind of plastic which does not stand up. One of the forks broke the first time I used it. In fact one of the forks was already bent when I received it. Don't waste your money.

I purchased this item to use in the yard to pickup pine needles & pine cones. The reason I chose this tools was because the tines were close together, re-enforced with a cross bar, & it scoops up items. But after only a couple of uses the tines began to break off. At first I thought I was overloading the fork, but even when I made sure I was picking up lighter loads I still lost tines.
Another problem that has occurred is the tines are bending across each other and not wanting to straighten back to the proper placement. I will NOT purchase this item again..
