man.. I would rather pay $30 for a commentary from the actor and director. I remember watching this movie as a child and had many fond memory's of it. I think someone's trying to make the old ones more valuable.. Personally.. I think I may be able to wait until someone comes to their senses and finds the commentary's... I mean.. geez.. the only people who get this DVD are dedicated scifi fans.. why rip us off in the worts kind of way?

Wait till release date.. Hell.. writ them and tell them what you think..

I think I'll do that right now!

;)

Jack, I still have the original dvd of the flick. When I heard they were re-releasing, I hoped they add on some special features like commentaries and what-not. Region 2 has that, not Region 1. HOW COME? Talk being ripped off! Did you hear that the Sci-Fi Channel is coming out with a Flash Gordon series?

I'll stick with my original DVD for now.

@Dennis

Yes, I can't wait. I've seen the trailer and they've updated the 80's Queen soundtrack. It's coming in August I think.

I have the original DVD copy too, found it by accident for 10 bucks locally and haven't seen it that low since (it got discontinued soon after). Still plays great after all this time.:-)

The movie company didn't want to pay them to do the commentary, so one was never made... but I paid about $3-5 to download a commentary track from bigkevsgeekstuff(dot)com - they had Sam J. Jones and Melody Anderson watch the movie at a convention and do commentary for it. It's pretty entertaining. I also paid for a DVD of it (they filmed the actors doing the commentary) but although they took my $$, they never sent it to me :(

There is a commentary track on the British dvd (and now Blu Ray too) though.
