I work at Best Buy, we already offer a code to access the Best Buy exclusive Five Star Quarterbacks for pre-orders. But starting late June, two weeks or so before the game comes out, we are going to have a $20 gift card in addition to this--for pre-orders only. The reason they are waiting until then is because during late June Kmart is going to offer something like they did for L.A. Noire($60 for the game + $20 off future game coupon + $20 game) but instead of the $20 game its going to be some exclusive DLC.
Anyway, if you guys want a good deal, then just wait. I've heard amazon has been stingy lately (first offering $15 off next game with LA Noire for Pre-orders, then day of release giving $20 off next game). So Best Buy will be your best bet.
But if amazon matches this then you don't have to pay for tax or shipping. I hope amazon matches this because, even though i work at Best Buy, I only get 10% off and that is pretty much just tax, but the main reason is because I rather have the NCAA Football 12 Starter Guide than the Five Star Quarterback. But then again Kmart could have a better DLC.
Keep your eyes pealed. Best Buy is starting to challenge Amazons gaming tricks.
You don't know what you are talking about, in terms of this, ACE: "I've heard amazon has been stingy lately (first offering $15 off next game with LA Noire for Pre-orders, then day of release giving $20 off next game). So Best Buy will be your best bet."
I preordered the game when it was 15, and after it shipped and they raised it to 20, I got another e-mail saying I got another 5 dollar promotion. The matched it without any action from me. Calling Amazon stingy is just inaccurate. They have always consistently had the best (or at least matched) pre-order offers, free shipping (or 99 cent release day delivery) and no tax depending on your state. You are silly not to order on Amazon.
And the great thing about Amazon is you can pre-order anything you want, they don't charge you until the game is released and shipped, and you can cancel anytime before that. So if you preorder early on, you get ALL of the promotions that they offer for the game the entire time that you have it preordered. You might not like the starter guide, but if you preorder now you get the starter guide... and if they add a credit later you get that, AS WELL, in addition to getting the lowest price they have before you are charged. So if it drops to 56 bucks then you get it for that.
Better hope ACE MAGIL isn't your real name and that Best Buy doesn't see you posting about upcoming promotions. I bet that information is not for public knowledge, eh?
Ya, Ace. I don't think they are stingy so you are off the rocker there. But what you claim about Best Buy-KMart deal does make me not want to order from Amazon. I think I am going with Best Buy, thanks for your info. But lets not act childish while giving consumers information about deals from better stores(even though i did earlier- haha sorry).
But really thanks, I think I'll be going with best buy. I still don't get why Xbox is cheaper and why Amazon just doesnt match Best Buy claims. I but this series every year and would go on a "subscribe program" - hah- if amazon hooked up $20 deals each year.
