A Must-Have Finger Lakes Guide Book,
By A Customer
This review is from: 200 Waterfalls in Central and Western New York - A Finders' Guide (Paperback)
Rich and Sue Freeman have come out with another must-have Finger Lakes guide book. This one, called "200 Waterfalls in Central & Western NY," is a well-done guidebook of accessible waterfalls complete with driving directions, access trails and photographs. Their descriptions include information and some historical notes. Whether a year round resident with out of town visitors or a summer resident, you will find this book a fine reference for area waterfalls. Mark this book as a good gift too.Leona Jensen, The Observer

Book was listed as used but looked brand new. I used it for a weekend trip to the Ithaca, New York area and it was very helpful. We visited 6 waterfalls listed in the book. We plan to use it when planning other weekend or day trips in the central New York area. I recommend it for nayone who enjoys the outdoors and especially waterfalls. It rates the difficulty of the trail to each falls and gives directions from different areas. There are also many photos in the book to preview the falls you are thinking of visiting along with a detailed description of each.

Practical, no non-sense presentation, good map sketches, well indexed, both alphabetically and by difficulty level. Helped us plan a great vacation. GPS coordinates for a lot of parking lots were a plus in locating them before starting on a trail. We selected about 30 falls to visit, all were well described and easy to find. You still need a detailed map and/or a GPS to ease finding some of the starting points, especially if not approaching from suggested reference point.
