For fun only, please don't take seriously., December 23, 1999
This review is from: 2000 A.D.: Are You Ready? : How New Technologies and Lightning-Fast Changes Are Opening the Door for Satan and His Plan for the End of the World (Paperback)
I received this book as a gift because I am fascinated by the mentality behind conspiracy theory but I am not into them. I think the only people who would take this book seriously are those who are already mentally dysfunctional and really just looking for an excuse to plant a bomb. If they would'nt find the excuse in this book then they would surely find it somewhere else. Apart from that this really is just for pure entertainment. It just doesn't have the thoroughness about it which would set it up as one of the more convincing publications on conspiracy theory, not that they are ever very convincing. The only reason I don't give it more stars is because it presents itself as fact instead of comedy fiction. I particularly enjoyed the reveiw of Om Shiva at Bonkersville, Alabama. I laughed more at that than I did at this book and I think it summarises perfectly the mind set with which this book should be digested.

The point is the last saint in the world has born and alive for now. When he dies, Deccal will born and I guess only about 100 hundred years left to total destruction so start to pray for your souls and if you are interested in , to learn more about read the holy book of muslims called "Kur-an'i Kerim".

I'd like to think I took this book in the right spirit - they're kind of kidding, aren't they? Worth reading as entertainment. Or, of course, as an example of the luxury we called "irony" in the days before we all became brutalised by food shortages, computer meltdowns and martial law. Yeah, right!!

This book is excelent and it cunningly fits right into the crevise between my cheeks. I would recommend it to anyone and would also suggest some other reading - "Beelzebub - My true Story" - J R R Phartley, "That God guy, what a wuss" - B L Zeubb , "How to succeed in Life (by getting your head out of your nether parts)" - W R T Gubbins, ", "How to get rid of piles using execrable reading material" - Big Black God. I honestly have never read anything quite like this book and I can honestly say that it opened my eyes! This Satan guy is one twisted s.o.b. though not half as wired as the doomsday twins from Wackedoutville. People believe this stuff, some of them might even be able to read. Oy-oy the world is truely coming to an end. Well, hopefully for some of these nutters.

It's hard to believe that as humans we have come so far, yet still have those amoung us who believe this drivel. Trust in science and leave the mythology behind. 2000 is simply a date, like any other, and not necessarily the end of the world. Wake up and smell the coffee (brewing in your Y2K compliant electric coffee machine.

These two men look normal and speak normally, which is more than can be said of most Bible prophecy people - just read the other two reviews!!!! Their book is interesting and makes a good case for the present time being the "end times" - however, only time will tell if they are accurate.

boring yet dumb, September 9, 1999

This review is from: 2000 A.D.: Are You Ready? : How New Technologies and Lightning-Fast Changes Are Opening the Door for Satan and His Plan for the End of the World (Paperback)
This book is a combination of garden-variety technology reporting (the sort of "what will they think of next" stuff you read in USA today: these guys more or less know what they are talking about) and far-out predictions, but unfortunately the predictions aren't far out or paranoid enough to be really amusing. Sure, we all know that people watch too much TV these days and that these are amazing times to be alive... But... After the rapture, people won't be surprised because they will naturally assume all these people have been beamed up by Scotty? Virtual Reality is the best tool the anti-christ has? (Somebody tell these guys that VR is passe these days.) Other than that it's all pretty tame stuff...

this book scares me. not because i am scared of upcoming damnation, but that people actually belive this. what kind of world are you living in? people, think for yourselves for a change.read it, but dont accept it as truth, take in all sides but quetion them all. (p.s. how nieve is it to think that 2000 means anything to the universe, such a nieve thing to think the silly little calander for a few religions is the all time standard. sorry, but humans are so incredibly insignifigant to the passage of time in reality (i.e. the real universe, not the one created by peoples own need to expalin the inexplicable)

Sensationalism Sells, June 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: 2000 A.D.: Are You Ready? : How New Technologies and Lightning-Fast Changes Are Opening the Door for Satan and His Plan for the End of the World (Paperback)
Sensationalism sells. People love being titillated, and religions are no exception. From a cosmic standpoint, the year 2000 is completely arbitrary. That doesn't stop people like these from capitalizing on our fear of the unknown, though. But hey, it's show business. If they can write something that sells, I say, go for it. Whee.

What a waste of time. To think people really believe this stuff. Ok I understand people having sex with little green men, but with devils.
