I saw this movie years ago and never really understood the ending - that's why I read the book.The book explains a lot moore but still leaves unanswered questions. Many of them are answered in 2010. The book was great reading. The author certainly knows a lot of science and the detail in the book is great. He also introduces some novel concepts and gives you a lot to think about. I am about to read 2061.
