Masterpiece Motion Picture Soundtrack Compilation,
By Robert "Supermandisco" (Fresno, Ca.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 2001 A SPACE ODYSSEY [LP VINYL] (Vinyl)
Even if you're not a fan of classical esteemed music, this one is a sure fire winner using high tech visuals from space with melodic ballet scores that blend masterfully with roaming space modules. Unusual does not define, as more or less, extreme! Also is the memorable title song, ALSO SPRACH ZARATHUSTRA, which has been used in many other renditions, even disco by Salsoul Orchestra but labeled 3001 instead. There are some metallic like songs that formulate space voyages and paths to the unknown, using hard core vocals stretching as far out into the bitter cold galaxy. This is a music scored journey that helps visualize what the future of mankind could be if he were to grasp it, and indeed, take the future seriously. The primeval world ties the connection from first discovery of tools and war among primates, then discovering the wandering monolith, an unexplainable mechanism from outer space, unknown to mankind, but can be seen again in the far future by astronauts in space. The music puts this entire realm into cosmic perspective. My only minor complaint here on Amazon is lack of complete track listings vinyl or otherwise, so I uploaded the Side 2 label for reference. |
