5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
This is a fabulous how-to-do-it guide to finding and keeping that special person. It gives practical tips on all matters including how to go about meeting people, and what are the best approaches for different people. Not everyone's the same you see, and this book is very much geared to the individual. Being a clinically obese depressive who values honesty and who seeks a...

3.0 out of 5 stars Tell me something I don't know
This book won't tell you anything you probably haven't stumbled on before...grocery stores, book stores...working for big companies...see...you've probably already thought of more of them.

But, it does provide some laugh-worthy ideas. My personal favorite is the one about putting out a $500 bounty with your friends for the person who fixes you up with your future...

This is a fabulous how-to-do-it guide to finding and keeping that special person. It gives practical tips on all matters including how to go about meeting people, and what are the best approaches for different people. Not everyone's the same you see, and this book is very much geared to the individual. Being a clinically obese depressive who values honesty and who seeks a Kylie lookalike (gsoh essential) meant that lonely hearts columns were out despite their first-blush appeal. Well, the proof of the pudding is in the eating - and that's where I come into my own - so here's to Henry back on the dating trail with this marvelous book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Let's hear it for quantity!, April 18, 1999
By A Customer
This book doesn't win on quality but it certainly does win on quantity. You'll be at it for days going over the 2002 ideas. Unfortunately there is a lot of repitition, but I'd say there's still at least 1500 original ideas. This book didn't solve my problems but it certainly helped me think about 1500 ways to move in the right direction.

I would say use a gift certificate for this book, but don't waste your own money on it. It tells you nothing you haven't already figured out, most likely.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2002 Good Ideas!, July 20, 2001
This review is from: 2002 Ways To Find, Attract, And Keep A Mate (Paperback)
I have yet to find one of Haynes' and Edwards' "2002" books anything less than entertaining. In this small volume, they provide more than just places to go to meet potential partners. They also talk about loving one's self, the importance of having "baggage" taken care of to the greatest extent possible ... in short, becoming the kind of partner you are seeking. A definite must-read for anyone who is seeking to find Mr. or Ms. Right.

This book is so on-target that now I find myself with 2001 alibis in the works at all times. I'm friggin' exhausted.

4.0 out of 5 stars Takes a different path from its larger rivals, November 26, 1997

Consider this a pocket guide that makes a fine companion to one of the other larger books on the subject. There are literally 2002 brief sentences with ideas, hints, tips and confidence builders ranging from the ridiculous to the obvious to the very helpful. It's worth it either as a companion book, like I mentioned above, or if you're not interested in devoting the time to something more detailed.
