I own a 2006 Pilot EXL and have used this manual for a few easy maintenance jobs. I have purchased many repair manuals over the years, and as typical, Haynes does an Okay job of conveying most of the basic details. If you just want to do simple repair work, i.e. brake pad replacement, air filter, etc., then this manual should work fine. However, if you are looking for a more detailed book for major repair jobs (you know who you are,) then this may still be of value, but I suggest you find another reference to use as well. A factory repair manual might be best, or Bentley Publishing does a much better job at presenting the details (and more details) to the untrained, (especially the small ones that you would otherwise never know about.) Unfortunately, Bentley does not make a manual for the Pilot. So the biggest factor here is cost. Haynes price is cheap, and Factory Manuals cost anywhere from $60 to $120 depending on the year. So, you have to decide, how much information do you need? Assuming you can do the job yourself, the money paid on any (or all) of these books will almost have an immediate payback period.

Book included everything I needed to know to replace engine mounts, a $700+ job at Honda (parts $225, rest labor). Great buy for DIYers.

This is a very good repair manual to have. I am happy to have it, but I wish there are more detail steps illustrated especially parts removal process.

A good Haynes manual, a little thin in some details, no nut,bolt,screw or tool size listed, not at all like a Honda shop manual, mostly engine information

no short cuts or problem heads up's but if your brave and have tech savvy it should do!

A good choice for the do-it-yourself type. Book has been on the money with all the repairs I've had to do on the Pilot. Well written and good photos. Reasonably priced and a good value for the busted knuckle group.

I do not do much maintenance on my cars other than oil changes and anything that does not require bleeding the brakes. I got a great deal on a 2003 MDX. It had its issues of which one was the windhsield wiper switch. This is the switch to the right of the steering wheel. IT gave me step by step instructions. I looked at doing more with the book and it was very detailed. I decided to sell the MDX (with the book) but if I ever buy another vehicle that needs reapir or I want to try an dfix another car I would definitely use Haynes repair manuals.

It's a fairly comprehensive service manual. It's definitely feels cheaper than its predecessors, in terms of thickness of the paper its printed on, but the content is all there. Definitely worthy for DIYers. I wouldn't hesitate to another Haynes manual for my next car - although at this price, I would think about getting it for my iPad instead.

I've used Haynes manuals over the years & have found them informative & helpful. The manual for the Honda Pilot is an exception. I did a timing belt change & the manual wasn't particularly useful. The procedure was poorly described, had a few omissions with respect to differences in model years & in general was, at best, a rough guide. I had better luck getting information from Youtube and the Autozone website. Chilton's manual is a better guide for this repair procedure.
