About the Author
In 1969, Glenda Riddick started teaching at Orange Coast College and immediately began to provide a list of various resources for her students. Through this first list Glenda realized the value of helping others leverage the existing resources available to them. Over the next ten years, Glenda refined her lists and began noting the needs of various people that were attempting to locate and use resources in their local community. The positive feedback and community impact that resulted from the directory encouraged Glenda to continue updating and publishing them each year. The Rainbow Resource Directory published its first directory in 1979, consisting of 300 listings and 56 pages. Today, the Rainbow Resource Directory annually publishes six "Rainbow Guides" and maintains over 40,000 listings.
