5.0 out of 5 stars A little poetry every day, June 9, 2006
By
This review is from: 2006 Poetry Speaks boxed calendar (Calendar)
It's June, 2006 and I've enjoyed this calendar very much... I've read poems by new (to me) authors and new poems by familiar poets. It also has pages dedicated to the lives of specific poets. I made a resolution this year to read poetry and this calendar reminds me of it and has led me to look up and read new poetry, save favorite pages/poems, and introduced me to new poets.

2.0 out of 5 stars not enough poetry!, February 3, 2006

There's somewhere around a third (or more) of this calendar that's information about poets and quotes by poets. That's a bit too much for me. Docked an extra star because the selection is uneven, mostly American, and the whole thing is badly organized.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great way to start the day, February 1, 2006

This daily calendar with a short poem or brief poet biography is a great way to start the day. I've now got several of the pages attached to the fridge! The poetry is overwhelmingly American, by writers known and unknown. Just wish, however, that more of the great British poets were included; their quality stands out on the rare dates they pop up.
