A Wonderful & Very Useful Traveling Companion,

This review is from: 2006 Witches' Datebook (Witches' Datebook) (Spiral-bound)
With each new year, I enjoy getting a copy of the newest Witches' Datebook from Llewellyn Publications. And, as is often the case, the 2006 datebook is brimming with lots of very useful information. Like its wall-calendar cousin ("Llewellyn's Witches' Calendar 2006"), the datebook lists all eight of the Wiccan/Pagan holidays (Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lammas, Mabon, Samhain and Yule) as well as all significant Christian holidays, Jewish holidays, Muslim holidays and the civil holidays for several countries: the United States, Canada and Mexico. It also lists all significant moon phases (new, waxing quarter, full, waning quarter and void-of-course) as well as significant planetary movements between the twelve constellations of the zodiac, including whether the movement is retrograde. It also lists the particular color associated with each day. An appendix at the end of the datebook contains a list of daily magical influences, color correspondences, lunar phases, moon signs, eclipses for 2006, all 2006 full moons, planetary retrogrades and a moon void-of-course table.
Articles contained at the beginning of the datebook include the following: * "Walking the Path" by Raven Grimassi. * "The Magic of Time" by Abby Willowroot. * "Midnight Weeding" by Dallas Jennifer Cobb. * "Personal Power" by Danny Pharr. * "Forgotten Days of Power" by James Kambos. A number of poems by Elizabeth Barrette that are contained throughout the datebook include: * "Spokes and Spirals", pg. 31. * "Darkling Mirror", pg. 35. * "Hidden by Light", pg. 45. * "Signs of Life", pg. 55. * "Breakthrough", pg. 61. * "Wearing Her Cloak", pg. 71. * "Ripe for the Picking", pg. 81. * "Anvil of Hours", pg. 87. * "Silver Footprints", pg. 97. * "Between the Worlds", pg 107. * "Edge of Night", pg. 115. * "Taproots", pg. 125. * "Snowdreams", pg. 129. Short articles written by Ellen Dugan about holidays include: * "Imbolc", pg. 39. * "Ostara", pg. 53. * "Beltane", pg. 65. * "Litha", pg. 79. * "Lughnasadh", pg. 91. * "Mabon", pg. 105. * "Samhain", pg. 117. * "Yule", pg. 131. Short articles written by Edain McCoy about various full moons include: * "Cold Moon", pg. 33. * "Quickening Moon", pg. 41. * "Storm Moon", pg. 51. * "Wind Moon", pg. 59. * "Flower Moon", pg. 67. * "Strong Sun Moon", pg. 75. * "Blessing Moon", pg. 85. * "Corn Moon", pg. 93. * "Harvest Moon", pg. 101. * "Blood Moon", pg. 109. * "Morning Moon", pg. 119. * "Long Nights Moon", pg. 127. The datebook also contains an assortment of seasonal recipes written by K.D. Spitzer that include: * "Brigid's Fresh Herbed Cheese", pg. 37. * "Ostara Seed Bread", pg. 49. * "Bel's Asparagus Avec Amour", pg. 61. * "Solstice Cookies", pg. 71. * "Lugh's Summer Corn Bisque", pg. 89. * "Spicy Harvest Soup", pg. 103. * "Fried 'Samhain Toads'", pg. 113. * "The Holly King's Favorite", pg. 123. The datebook's compact size and lightweight allows it to be carried with ease in any briefcase, backpack, shoulder bag or purse so that it can be a wonderful traveling companion. There is ample space on each calendar date to write appointments or other important information. There are also a few blank address book pages at the end of the datebook. Overall, I rate "Llewellyn's Witches' Datebook 2006" with 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it.

Simply the best datebook!,
This review is from: 2006 Witches' Datebook (Witches' Datebook) (Spiral-bound)
I have been wanting to order the witches datebook for years and finally decided 2006 was my year! I got it in the mail yesterday and it is fantastic! I noticed that another member listed all of the fantastic articles contained in this perfect sized little book so I wont go into that. There is plenty of space to write down your appointments and perhaps notes about your garden, or spell crafting. I can tell you I have NEVER seen such a complete info packed book of days in my life!
Even if you arent a witch there are lovely poems, fun facts, and astrological tracking that is worthy of any professional astrologist appointment! I'm going to buy one for my mom. (it's a nice way to educate your loved ones because of the articles) I loved the explaination of the days of power and the articles of the 12 full moons! I will never loose track of my witchy duties again. oh.. and the color of the day is a very fun little addition!

I've been using the Witches' Datebook for six years. It's a great size, it stands up to constant abuse and doesn't fall apart in July, and the address/phone pages in the back are a goddess-send. Each year there's a new focus, new information, new authors, new recipes, poems -- it's loaded with good stuff!

I have enjoyed the Llewellyn's Witches' Datebook for three years now, and it is simply the best one I have found. There is plenty of space for each day. Pagan, Christian, and other international holidays are all marked. The book is packed with interesting information regarding the history of witchcraft and Wicca, spells, herbs, and food recipes. Highly recommended!

Best Date Book I've Ever Owned,

I've never been so excited about a date book! As I am newer to Wicca, I thought it would be very helpful to have a datebook that told me when my new holidays are, and the moon/astrological phases. Not only does this accomplish that, but tells all sorts of little facts of history on various dates, along with fabulous stories, articles, poems, and pictures. I will be getting one of these every year now! I just wish they had a "page-a-day" calendar as well!

Ok, I admit I put my review for this book under the wrong product! So here it is, abbreviated:
I like being able to use this for my normal activity and still keep track of moon phases and sun entering astrological signs. I also have fun wearing the color of the day.

An Enjoyable Planner,
This review is from: 2006 Witches' Datebook (Witches' Datebook) (Spiral-bound)
If you're like me, and prefer to use a physical book-style planner as opposed to a virtual-planner, and appreciate earthly spirituality, then you'll no doubt enjoy this planner.
It's full of Wiccan and witchcraft trivia, and has some neat guides on moon phases, zodiac movment, etc. Makes organizing and keeping track of your schedule fun and interesting compared to plain planners.

Love the stories/topics that are shared by the leading wiccan and pagan authors of this age. The poetry excerpts are lovely and inspire from Elizabeth Barrett. The quick references to the Moon and next void of course is fabulous for any practicing witch and need to know the best time to do their work.
A+++ I've been buying it for the past 4 yrs and would not miss another one!

This Datebook is the best planner I have ever used. I have been in college for 5 years, and have used many different planners to help me keep track of my assignments. This one by Llewellyn is absolutely the best. Along with giving me adequate room to keep track of my homework, I no longer have to keep searching on the internet to find the moon phase, or any other important pagan/wiccan information. It is a great planner, I love it.
