Editorial Reviews

The weather's heating up, the skies are blue... it can mean only one thing... The 2007 Annual is just around the corner! With both the 2005 and 2006 Annuals' each selling in excess of 200,000 copies each - this is set to once again be the biggest selling dance compilation in Australia! The Annual is Ministry of Sound's ultimate yearly release, delivering all the biggest club records and best sounds of the year & offering a taste of what's sure to be the hottest tracks for 2007. Set over 2 CDs, the 2007 Annual will once again be seamlessly mixed by Australia's favourite locals and mainstayers on the circuit - Melbourne's John Course and Sydney's Mark Dynamix. Featuring some of the hugest tracks around, there's little doubt nearly every single one is going to get hammered over the summer months - with hits from David Guetta vs The Egg, Fedde Le Grande, Kaskade, Supafly, Sneaky Sound System & Basement Jaxx to name but a few...

2.0 out of 5 stars Sorta Bummed...., November 18, 2006

This review is from: 2007 Annual: Mixed By John Course & Mark Dynamix (Audio CD)
Being a huge fan of MOS compilations, I would recommend them. I enjoy the Hard NRGs, Chillouts, Sessions etc. I was at a bit of a crossroads this year, not sure which version of the 2007 Annual to buy. As I live in Aus, and the Aus version was slightly cheaper and seemed worthy I opted for that. But the Australian version of 07 Annual just didn't do it for me...Perhaps I'm more attracted to higher energy type dance music, but this just felt more like electro-pop. It felt very slow and sometimes quite monotonous.

If you liked the 06 Aus Annual, you will enjoy this as it is mixed by the same DJ's (John Course & Mark Dynamix)in much the same style as last years' release. I can honestly say (very inarticulately)that it all depends on personal taste...but I feel that the UK and AUS versions are quite different from eachother, if you have the opportunity to try before you buy I highly recommend you do! Because it is likely you will prefer one style over another.

I hope that this helps:) Happy hunting.
