4.0 out of 5 stars Good Resource for Hospital Pharmacy, December 11, 2007
This review is from: 2008 Intravenous Medications: A Handbook for Nurses and Health Professionals, 24e (Intravenous Medications: A Handbook for Nurses & Allied Health Professionals) (Spiral-bound)
I had the 2007 edition and decided to update my book. At first there was a publishing problem with the 2008 edition where the pages were not hole-punched correctly. Therefore, the pages would not remain spiral-bound. Amazon was able to replace my book, though. Besides that, I like this book alot. It is very useful. As a pharmacist, I rely on the book to figure out what diluent and volume to compound the IV to when I can not find the information in the package insert or need a fast source to find the information. Package inserts are so tiny to read. I also use the book to find the rate of infusion when asked upon by nurses. I have found doses for IV drugs in this book that are not in other resources, too. Overall, I recommend this book for hospital pharmacists, especially recent graduates or those new to the hospital environment.
