Base Costs High - otherwise very good,

This review is from: 2008 National Building Cost Manual (Paperback)
The NBC is great and it has a wide variety of new products including solid wall estimating and mobile home estimating. I will check it against NADA this year on the MH and dump the ever increasingly expensive NADA book if it works out.
But ya' need a computer program! Something like the old "Boeckh Check" product. M & S screwed up Boeckh when they bought them out, and I quit Marshall and Swift because they are too costly. I find the base costs in NBC increased substantially, and assuming that is based upon data now approaching a year old...its being overtaken by events in the building trades. Steel is up but every other class of material and labor is dropping fast...Midyear supplements are needed. |
