5.0 out of 5 stars Best drug guide for professionals, September 18, 2007
This review is from: 2008 PDR Nurse's Drug Handbook (Pdr Nurse's Drug Handbook) (Delmar's Nurse's Drug Handbook) (Paperback)
This is one of the best, most comrehensive, drug guides for medical and mental health professionals. It includes what many others do not beiginning with a listing in red of what are the most likely side effects. This is helpful because they ae the ones most likey to occur. Othes list all the side effectf as if the equal in liklyhood, confusing and uneccessarily scaring patients. Second, it dark shades the informtion that would be contained on meds that are black boxed like anti depressions for children and teens.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great format & quick reference, December 11, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 2008 PDR Nurse's Drug Handbook (Pdr Nurse's Drug Handbook) (Delmar's Nurse's Drug Handbook) (Paperback)
I buy these for my nurses because they are the easiest to use quick reference and they have useful Pt. teaching. The information is easy to access because the entire book is alpha ordered rather than grouping drugs so they have to know the catagory to look up the drug.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good book, lousy software & website., July 19, 2008
This review is from: 2008 PDR Nurse's Drug Handbook (Pdr Nurse's Drug Handbook) (Delmar's Nurse's Drug Handbook) (Paperback)
The book is great but the cd that comes with it is a joke. Each time you type in a drug name, you have to download a pdf file to see it. Even if you have already downloaded it before. It doesn't know how to look on your computer. Then on top of that the website shows no updates for 2008. Here is it end of July and their website is still selling the 2007 edition only and it always says the 2008 update is unavailable & to use the 2007. It's been saying that forever. If you are curious here is the url it has you go to for updates: nursespdr.com & nursespdr.com/database2008. But even if updates were available the software is still horrible. And it doesn't come with all the drugs - just the top 189 or so it says.
