This new Silver Koala coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in specimen quality.
Cuddly Koala Design
The coin's reverse design depicts a cuddly koala clinging tenaciously to the branch of a gum tree.
Remarkable 'Shimmer' Background
The image appears on a 'shimmer' background, a remarkable new effect developed exclusively by The Perth Mint.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the 2009-dated coin bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse.
Mint To Order
The 2009 Silver Koala is struck on a 'Mint to Order' basis only. Production will close on announcement of the 2010-dated coin, enabling The Perth Mint to declare its official mintage.

This is a really beautiful coin. Silver is a good investment even if your paying more an ounce for collecters coins such as this. The currencyproblems going on right now. Make Gold or Silver a good bet. If you buy Gold or Silver make sure you buy in one oz coins you get more for your money. This coin came from Canada they had it delivered to me in under two days. Really good service

You can buy these coins for half or less at many of the online mints...APMEX, Westminster, etc...MUCH cheaper...Always shop around for price folks...
