4.0 out of 5 stars Nothing listed at all for Alaska or Hawaii, lots for the other 48. Nothing for Canada.
Was disappointing to order this, only to find absolutely no listings whatsoever for Hawaii or Alaska. Not sure why clubs in these states would be excluded, although it's tough to drive a bus to either state. Still, why exclude the radio stations in those states. Mail and telephone work just fine to get in touch with public and college radio in these two states. Excluding...

2.0 out of 5 stars Completely Useless
I bought this for a college course in Talent Management. I was incredibly disappointed to learn that the book referenced no REAL nightclubs. They should really change their 'clubs' section to 'venues.' They listed a ton of festivals, but none I was interested in (DEMF & WMC). If you're an indie, punk, grunge, or pop/rock band then this book will be fine for you. But for...

Oh well. There are many club listings for the continental 48. Each lists fundamental contact information, as well as genre, advance, capacity and sound information. There's usually a sentence or two of description about the kinds of acts wanted. Sometimes, there's a few words about merch splits. There are also listings for lawyers, press, associations, and so on.

A useful reference book.

80% of what you read in this compilation is outdated and inefficient.
Every other email is dead and every other venue is shut...
what a waste of money-- ( I purchased this when it came out).... 2009

Gave it two stars because the information they did have was thorough.
