This review is from: 2010 FIFA World Cup (Video Game)
I almost didn't purchase this because a few reviewers said that there wasn't much difference between FIFA 10 and FIFA 10 World Cup. Well, I wouldn't expect there to be except for the venue, so I purchased it anyway and I am really glad I did. Admittedly, I am new to soccer video games but I cannot believe how much content EA packed into this portable game. There are 10 different ways to play, everything from the entire World Cup, to just the World Cup finals. You can even choose a team from one of the FIFA confederations and try to make it through the qualification rounds to get to the World Cup. To put the icing on the cake, EA included a multiplayer mode where you can play a friend on another PSP (adhoc) or people from across the globe (infrastructure). The music tracks are top notch, which I have come to expect from EA. I found the player movements to be fluid and the game play to be quite frantic at times. As in real soccer, scoring is no easy feat even against the weaker teams. This makes for very realistic and rewarding game play, as you have to work hard for those goals. There are many different control methods to choose from and EA was kind enough to include a new "2-button" control method for newbies like myself. To learn the more advanced controls, EA has included a practice mode which allows you play against anywhere from 1 opponent (just a goalie) up to 11 opponents (a full team). The practice modes are free practice, corner kicks, free kicks or penalty shoot out. This is a great way to hone your skills before playing a real match. As you progress through the game, you can win various trophies and awards as well as unlock new soccer balls designs and other items. There are just too many features to list in this short review but I think EA did a great job in delivering an excellent World Cup simulation for the PSP.

I really enjoy this game. It has everything that you want. Great qualifying campaign, challenges, captain your country and online play. I really like the online play format. However games are frequently dropped on the online play mode. However, for psp... this game is great even if the online play is not the most stellar. I am hard to please when i comes to sports games and this game is a winner in my book.

I lost interest in this game fairly quickly.
I'm one who enjoys playing season after season of a sport game, and this game doesn't lend itself to that.....you play the tournament, and then it's over. Not really the game's fault, just didn't fit my preferred playing style. 2115|RXN7T4EEQOMD4;2115|R1CBG15SC99EN7;2115|R21OZ5YYIR0SOJ;
