Great idea - but no illustrations as the box cover would lead you to believe.

Great for the history buff. My brother either watches sports or the History Channel so this was a perfect Christmas present!

Very politically correct and even has a major error!,

History buffs can do better than this. There is even an error--not the worst in the world, but it should never happen from something called "The History Channel." It is from today's offering, wherein the fall of the Persian Empire is said to have occurred in 642 BC.

I got this as a gift for my child's teacher and he really liked it. He used it daily in class as a learning tool. The kids found the historical information interesting.

To other reviewers: clearly states "look inside" did you? clearly states "box calendar" It is unfair to rate as poor when you did not read description. Nowhere on there does it say wall calendar.

As a history major I could think of many other choices for historical trivia for 'this day in history'. We got through one week on this calendar and said enough. It is not very family friend;y for those with elementary aged children.

I clicked on wall calendars and was sent a desk calendar. Can't really send back as it would cost as much to do that as to just keep it. I haven't really looked at it so the one star is not for the quality etc, it's just not what I wanted/ordered and I really now have something that I will never use. Oh well, Amazon is awesome most of the time and this is the first time I have ever gotten the wrong thing.
