5.0 out of 5 stars Nice rain jacket, perfect for spring / summer! May 1, 2008

I received this right as it started a spring downpour for about 5 days straight here. It kept me dry, and was lightweight enough to not be bulky or impede motion. I didn't get a drop of water on me, and the hood was great, you can wear it normally or even put a longer flap out if needed. It is thin, so it seems like it would rip easily, so I'd be careful in dense brush. It is very compact, would fit in another coat pocket or in a small pocket in your backpack if needed, super-compact. Would also fold up into it's own pocket. Dried very fast when I hung it up. Great color choices as well. The only negative I have is that the pockets are a little high, up where some secondary pockets are on my other jackets. True, it also does not breathe that well, but it's a rain jacket...just open the pit zips if you have to step inside somewhere, or just take it off, no biggie, you can practically shake whatever water is left on it off, and throw it in your pack.

I would definitely buy another one (my girlfriend also has one). All around I would give it a high score 9-10/10 because it was exactly what I needed and was looking for for the warm month downpours, and portability. My winter shell is indestructible, but way, way too bulky to take around for the warm months.

3.0 out of 5 stars Suffocate December 30, 2008
I seem to be the only person that does not like their Marmot Precip jacket. The upsides are that it is waterproof and very compact, but the jacket does not breathe at all. The few times that I have worn it I feel very "sticky" inside it, even with the pit zips open. Having my arms sweat even in low temperatures while wearing this jacket is pretty miserable. So I placed this jacket as an emergency rain coat in the trunk of my car...

This jacket is wonderful! It's so light weight and flexible and you can take it where ever you want to go. My husband and I have this jacket and take it everywhere. I recommend this to anyone who wants to keep dry, cause it will sure do the job!

3.0 out of 5 stars Like this jacket, but tears easily.
I bought this for my boyfriend and within a few months of wear already had several tears. Good company, but this rain jacket is a bit flimsy for the price.

Bought this for camping and backpacking. It packs away small, and is water proof. I would buy from this company again without hesitation.

5.0 out of 5 stars great jacket
A great jacket for rain and wind, and a cover over fleece or whatever. I'm seriously thinking the guy who recommended can continue dating my daughter.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT
People complaining about it not being breathable shouldn't complain--it's a hard shell rain jacket. It isn't supposed to breathe. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Save it for a rainy day..
I was hoping this would come with a liner inside but it doesnt. It repels the rain nicely but if it's cold out make sure to wear a sweatshirt or something warm under it.
