Great content, poor audio,

I pre-ordered this DVD the moment it arrived on amazon. It finally arrived today. I opened it up and turned it on for my family to watch during dinner.Sadly the background music overpowered the narration and we could hardly follow the storyline. Hopefully others who have purchased the dvd are not having the same experience as my family. I would gladly replace my "bad disc" and buy another one with well balanced audio levels.

Fabulous video, great subject, horrible sound track,

Like many other Giants fans, I eagerly awaited this souvenir from an unforgettable season. The video is fantastic - wonderful shots of the players, the action, the parks, and the celebration. As a visual treat, it would be hard to improve on this DVD. I wish the same could be said for the sound track, which is insufferable. The music is so loud it was simply not possible for me to follow the narration or the player interviews, much less the radio and TV commentary that was often in the background. Worse, there is no setup capability on this disc, so too bad if your sound system is not the one they programmed to, and there is no closed captioning capability. I guess MLB thinks the hearing impared won't mind seeing the lips move with no possibility of knowing what the people are saying - except when a player speaks in Spanish! THEN they have an English subtitle! I returned my copy with deep disappointment, and can only hope that MLB, who threw out this poorly executed and under-featured production to try to catch the Christmas shopping frenzy, will do a second generation version that doesn't sound like "A Night at the Symphony." If they do, I will buy one.

Distracting Sound Track,
This review is from: 2010 San Francisco Giants: The Official World Series Film (DVD)
I was so looking forward to receiving this DVD and was so disappointed after viewing it, I am returing both DVDs (one as a gift) that I bought for a full refund. The soundtrack was so loud I could not hear the commentary. Plus, the sound track was less than desireable and that's too bad as the video commentary portion of the DVD is something that I would like as a souveneir of this remarkable season. The best part of the DVD was the bonus footages at the end that were not overridden by the soundtrack. I thought for sure I had received a poor copy but, in reading the other reviews, I know now that I didn't. I am hard pressed to give this DVD 1 star and that's too bad because from what I could tell, the story line was great.

Ruined by horrible soundtrack / audio,
This review is from: 2010 San Francisco Giants: The Official World Series Film (DVD)
Soundtrack is lame, but much worse is fact that the audio level of the soundtrack is much louder than the narration, etc. to the point it's hard to hear what is being said. Would also prefer to hear much more of the SF Giants announcers, esp. the call of Renteria's 3-run homer in game 5 of the WS.

I just purchased a copy of the 2010 World Series DVD and agree with some of the other reviews, the audio mix is really poor. The music is WAY too loud in the final mix and drowns out the audio commentary both from the narrator and the original TV/Radio broadcasts heard during the highlights. How did this get released to the public this way?!? Since there are no audio controls available on the DVD to adjust the music levels it makes the majority of the DVD very hard to watch and enjoy. (The extras don't suffer the heavy handed symphonic onslaught that the main content drowns under). What would otherwise be a great keepsake for this Giants fan is unwatchable and I'll be returning the DVD. I'm hoping that there are plans in the works to release an update that will fix this issue. I've also notified Shout Factory of the issue through their website customer service. Hopefully shaking that tree will get a fix in the works.

I'm not sure what else to say as the title says it all. I had read earlier reviews were folks said the narrative could hardly be heard and they were right. As a matter of fact it is quite the understatement. I was extremely disappointed; the sound was a cacophony of unintelligible mishmash. You could pick up a few words here and there but it was so utterly unenjoyable that I simply threw it in the garbage where it belongs. Caveat emptor has never been more true with this product. In all seriousness, do not waste your money, because that is exactly what you would be doing.

Yes, the music did get in the way at times, but if you are a Giants fan, this is a must. Don't forget to watch the special features. Rob Schneider was surprisingly low key. There are a lot of interviews and side coverage views that I hadn't seen before. Can't wait for 2011 ;-)

I finally gave in and bought the DVD-wanted to see the footage...Giants fan since I was 6 yrs old and my dad took me to see the two Willies (Willie Mays the greatest player of the game). It will stay on the shelf as a rememberance of a long desired championship. JUST be aware that ALL of the reviews are accurate. The Producer of this DVD at Major League Productions is a WORTHLESS IDIOT. Not only is the sound track BAD, it is totally unnecessay-an attempt to create drama (maybe they turned production over to a junior high school class for a media class project--no, a 13 yr old couldn't screw up this badly). It is purely the work of an idiot producer who is in love with himself and the sound track he either wrote or commissioned. You can barely hear Rob Schneider or the players as they speak. This is not an exaggeration...the totally unnecessary background music is NOT in the background but constantly in your face. How many years have we waited for a Giants World Series win and we get this crap-disgusting.

My husband was a somewhat disappointed that this DVD only showed small clips, he expected (from the commercials) for there to be way more footage.
