I've been using this book since the mid 1980's and it continues to be a terrific resource for marketing your art. Whether you're a seasoned pro or someone who's right out of school, you can always find useful info. I've personally gotten many good (and some great!) paying assignments through it. The price is fairly steep in the bookstore so Amazon is really your best bet.
The only cons I'd say are the fact that some of the listings don't get updated like they should, and some don't have useful contact info. Also, I'd avoid the agenda driven activist publications listed because they try to get away with paying people "in copies" - a ripoff.
Having said that, there are over a thousand real, useful listings in a wide variety of categories. There's also plenty of good info you can use to get yourself educated in a particular field of art.
I highly recommended it. Good luck!

I've been buying various editions of this book for the last ten years now, and if you're an illustrator or designer and are looking for additional markets to sell your work, it's indispensable.

It also has interviews with artists who tell their self-promotion strategies. A great source of ideas.

I needed to know the markets where my cartoons would be accepted. The guide helps me pinpoint where I can possibly get published and gives me encouragement. It is a wonderful resource.
