Highly recommended reading -- especially for those with an interest in the developing prominence of the 2012 prophecies,

This review is from: 2012 Maya End Date: A New Beginning (Paperback)
As the date of December 21, 2012 approaches nearer and nearer, more and more attention is being given to its prophetic implications which first began with the revelations of Mayan prophecies associating it with the end of the Mayan calendar, and then reinforced as being of metaphysical importance by Hopi and Nostradamus prophecy, and even webot-based internet calculations. In "2012 Maya End Date: A New Beginning", author Edward Curry applies the prophetic 2012 end of the world as we know it metaphysical expectations to an imaginative action/adventure novel featuring such memorable and returning characters of Chief Ahau, first wife Elena, as well as their daughter Constanza, helio plane pilots Rick and Greg, a TV anchor, a Mayan fortune teller, and an ancient Maya spiritual leader. The sequel to "Temple Of The Two Jaguars", his latest 368-page novel, "2012 Maya End Date", once again documents Edward Curry's gift for superb storytelling backed up and enhanced by dedicated research to provide an extraordinary context for a truly phenomenal entertainment that leaves his appreciative readers looking forward to his next literary effort. Highly recommended reading -- especially for those with an interest in the developing prominence of the 2012 prophecies.

The year 2012 isn't that far away, so many people are getting a bit nervous with all the rumors going around about the end of the world. Although, no one can be sure what events will take place on December 21, 2012, this book brings a fascinating perspective to the mix of past theories. For anyone who is interested in this type of book, it will certainly give the reader some information which has not been written in past volumes.

Students of Anthropology, Latin American Studies, and the religion of the ancient Mayan will appreciate Edward Curry's diligent research, creative imagination, and gift for story telling. "2012 Maya End Date: A New Beginning" is a sequel to his earlier book "The Temple of the Two Jaguars." Curry captures the mystery, intrigue, and danger of the complex Maya system with its art, symbolism, and mythology. He combines speculative tradition with a tale of adventure, suspense, and romance. He draws the reader in as they relate to the down to earth likeableness of his protagonists Ryan Keshaw and his wife Dr. Allie Lea Shelton. Ryan's premonitions, Allie Lea's spunkiness, and daughter Lynn's playfulness all add to a suspenseful compelling plot and strong character identification. References to the plot and introduction of characters carried over from his first book enable the reader to relate to the background even though they have missed the earlier novel. Graphic descriptions of ancient rites are done with a careful boldness. Curry introduces the various aspects of the amazing contribution the Maya have made to civilization. Whatever your thoughts on the concept of the date of December 23, 2012 as being the end date of the Maya civilization and its impact on the world as whole, Curry's alternative takes on an interesting consideration and offers a hope for new enlightenment. Exploring an ancient culture, their caves, evil spirits, and danger take Ryan and Allie Lea Shelton on a roller coaster ride of death defying adventure. Compelling creative fiction, entertaining, and scholarly.

Peak Adventure,
This review is from: 2012 Maya End Date: A New Beginning (Paperback)
We are all wondering just what will happen in the year 2012, aren't we? It seems no one can absolutely say that nothing will happen, yet few want to believe that something earth shaking will occur. We just do not know, that fact in itself leaves us wide open.
I did not have the opportunity to read the first book in this series, however I was able to jump right in with this one. The characters were very well defined within this story and you were brought up to speed. I like the way the author brought his characters down to size and allowed the reader to merge with them. The husband wife team that heads the adventure and are the main characters are very likeable and at times downright humorous, and with the addition of their child they became a down to earth family, although they lived quite an adventurous life. Good job. The story wraps around the prophecy of the Maya end as they travel into the adventure of their life. The author backs up his writing with research and that is thrilling in itself. In this book you will find facts, fiction, adventure, characters and events that are hair-raising, and a plot that demands your attention. A very well written piece of work and one that anyone interested in the year 2012 will not be able to put down, or anyone that wants an adventure of a life-time read.

Better days ahead? Or not?,

In Curry's sequel to Temple of the Two Jaguars, Ryan Keshaw and Dr. Allie Lea Shelton are off to Mesoamerica on another adventure. Along the way, they again encounter danger and strange ancient rituals. They also interact with an interesting cast of characters.
Authentic Maya glyphs and verse begin each chapter. The events unfold relentlessly. But what will the outcome be? Is the end of civilization imminent? Is there hope for the human race? Curry's research and innate spirituality provide the answers.
