Gave this to my hubby for his birthday - he loved it and is constantly getting compliments. The leather seat and grips are gorgeous. One thing that was slightly disappointing was that the wooden box in the photo was not included.

The shipping company, not naming any names (*FedEx*), caused some issues with the way that they handled the bike in delivery. When I got in touch with the company they were so helpful it was almost unbelievable (probably the best customer service not only that I've ever received but that I've ever witnessed). They knew about my problem when I called (from the Amazon email) and were prepared with a solution that was quick and completely painless for me.

The Bike... is amazing!! It is incredibly sturdy and handles like a dream. Not to mention, it's GORGEOUS!!! I got it as a Christmas gift for my husband and he absolutely loves it. My only regret in this transaction is that, already having a bike, I was not able to get my own Brooklyn Cruiser. When it is time for a new one, I know where I'm going to get it.

I would have given it 5 stars but the rear hub break system was defective out of the box. Still deserved 4 stars because manufacturer sent another rear wheel out at no charge and the bike met or exceeded all my expectations. I planned to build my own wood rack, but ultimately spent the money on the Cruiser box and have received compliments on the bike and or box from strangers nearly every time I cruise downtown. If your looking for a city bike with great retro styling that rides like a dream, this is the bike for you.

For someone looking for the short short version, I love looking at the bike and it rides really well. It's priced right and I'm very happy with the customer service. It's a great bike. If you'd like a little more detail...

The upsides:

1) If you're looking for a retro cool bike, this one is hard to beat. I mostly commute to work on it and every time I ride it, someone
comments on how awesome the bike looks. I could on about this for quite a while. The double top tub is unique, the saddle is
beautiful, hand grips lovely, the cream tires set off the whole thing like a champ. A+ for style every day and twice on Sunday.
Especially if you add the vintage crate. It somehow looks even better that way. Let's be honest, cruiser style bikes are pretty
heavily about style any way and this one wins that contest hands down.

2) While the 2013 version has SIGNIFICANT upgrades over this 2012, the money savings on the 2012 are large. I think it
would be hard to beat the quality and cool/unique factor in this price range even though you lose out on all the upgrades.

3) Customer services from the seller (City Bike) and from Brooklyn Cruiser has been top of the line

4) Includes a small vial of touch up paint and saddle soap to keep the leather bits in top quality - I think that's a nice little touch

5) It rides nicely down the road and over the occasional curb. I haven't ridden a bike in years, but I jumped right into going 10
miles each time I go to work.

The Downsides:

1) Packing was not as well protected as it could have been.

First impressions of 2012 Men's Three Speed Bicycle Black by Brooklyn Cruiser
This is a 2012 model of the Brooklyn Cruiser Driggs.

I hope to post some photos of the details.

Pros
--The bike is attractive.
--The components look nice without a close inspection. Not top quality but good for price level.
--Gear adjustment seemed to be good right out of the box.
--The rack has a spring clip retainer

Cons
--The front brake does not have a quick release to spread the caliper arms. This means the tire does not fit through the brake pads when it is inflated. This makes it more difficult to reinstall a tire when changing a flat.
--There are no water bottle bosses on the frame.
--The front fender is out of alignment at the rear. It will have to be bent back into position.
--There are no quick release skewers for either the front or rear wheel. I didn’t expect either front or rear, but especially the rear with the 3 speed hub. This arrived as expected but other models in this price range might offer quick release axles. Again this makes it easier to change tires if flat.

Details
--I weighed it with my luggage scale and it was 34.1 lbs. Without a crate installed.
--The rear rack mount on the dropout was bent when I received it. I carefully bent it back into position by using pliers on the attachment screw to avoid damaging the paint. This did not appear to have been damaged in transit. It appears to be bent before packaging.
--The leather grips were not an ergo style, just a cylinder shape.
--The kickstand is a center mounted single leg style.
--The handlebars are a larger width and flatter than I expected.
